It’s raining men...

The Weather Girls, also known as Two Tons o’Fun early in their career, is an American female duo formed in San Francisco in 1977 and originally composed of Izora Armstead and Martha Wash.

Shocking and charming duo which will remain mainly in the musical history of the 80s for the title "It’s raining men" released in 1982. Single which will set fire to all the Dancefloor of the planet that year.

As such alone, we had to devote this article to them.

To discover or rediscover.

Clips :

1980 ... a first title which ideally positions them on the Dance scene. At this stage, success is limited but not for very long ...

1980 ... a first year of existence which allows them to gain momentum slowly but surely. Nothing exceptional for the moment but it will come ...

1980 ... anyway, a playful style that works really well. And who asks only to gain height. See you on the next title !

1982 ... then comes THIS title. An awesome Dance title that will set fire to all the Dancefloor on the planet and make them fit One Shot into the musical legend of the 80s. A model of the genre. MAS-TER-FUL !

1983 ... here we are already in 1983 and the conclusion is unfortunately clear : they will never repeat the incredible feat of the previous year. From now on, it will be necessary to be satisfied with a level which is after all average ...

1985 ... after a year 1984 empty, here they are back in 1985 with this title of certain quality. Unfortunately, the competition is now light years ahead and they will never come back to the race ...

1985 ... what makes their strength, but also their weakness, is that they still believe in it. But the general level is really not enough to hope to touch the stars again ...

1993 ... big 8 years air hole in which hardly anything will happen. They dare to move on to the next decade and my faith, it's rather a good surprise. Not sure that it lasts ...

1994 ... here they are in Eurodance mode, we had to try this one ! It's still nice but just like the middle of the previous decade, the level is not enough to be able to compete with the best !

1995 ... a totally surrealist trio which nevertheless gives a rather good result. On one side the heavyweights in the Weather Girls version and on the other the half-portion format with Jimmy Sommerville. The high pitched voice for the man and the low pitched voice for the women. Everything is reversed ...

1996 ... the end of a nice adventure, with ups and downs but which still saw them produce one of the biggest dance hits of the end of the twentieth century, a final result that would satisfy more of one !
