Crowded House, originally named The Mullanes, is an Australian band formed in Melbourne in 1985 and originally composed of Neil Finn, Paul Hester and Nick Seymour. A group that can boast of having sold around 10 million albums worldwide to date.
The band released their eponymous debut album a year later in 1986 and for a first try, it was a masterstroke. The album is a worldwide hit and will produce no less than 5 Singles including 2 mega hits. A first mega hit with "Don’t dream it’s over" which came out the same year and which remains to this day their biggest record success. And to a lesser extent "Something so strong" which was released the following year in 1987.
New album "Temple of low men" in 1988, album with less success but with significant success all the same. Album which will in turn produce a number of significant Singles, the best ranked of which will be “Better be home soon”.
We will have to wait 3 years and the year 1991 to see the release of the next album "Woodface", an album of notorious success and which puts the group back in the heights of the Charts. This time around, with a plethora of titles classified at the highest level including "Chocolate cake", "Fall at your feet", "It's only natural", three titles also released in 1991 as well as "Weather with you" and "Four seasons in one day ”, two last titles which will be released in 1992.
A success that cannot be denied two years later in 1993 when the album "Together alone" was released, an album with 7 Singles ! Unfortunately, this time around, only the Single "Distant Sun" will meet a planetary class fate.
In 1996, a best-of called “Recurring dream : the very best of Crowded House” was released, a best-of which was to be a huge success and from which two unpublished works, namely “Instinct” and “Not the girl you think you are”, will be extracted.
Two titles which will be their last notable successes of the decade. But the adventure did not end there and they would return the following decade with the release of a new album in 2007 which will not go unnoticed, far from it.

1986 ... a first title which will only know its heyday in...Australia. But it's always better than nothing as they say ...
1986 ... on the other hand, the fame of this one will extend well beyond the country of the kangaroos. A beginning of planetary recognition which augurs well for the best consequences ...
1986 ... then THIS title comes ! In a single year they will have achieved the planetary consecration that others will take years and years to obtain. They sign here quite simply the biggest success of all their discography and at the same time offer themselves a direct ticket for posterity. MAS-TER-FUL !
1987 ... after a bloated year 1986 in terms of titles, 1987 will seem a little pale next door. It doesn't matter, as long as the quality is there. And that's the case !
1988 ... here they are in ballad mode, an area that was totally foreign to them for the moment. And the least we can say is that they are far from ridiculous. Especially when you see the level of success achieved by the title ...
1988 ... we go from one extreme to another with this title for the less sympathetic and which will nevertheless go almost completely under the radar. Go figure ...
1989 ... new single-title year, all in a jazzy style, to say the least surprising concerning them. A group that likes to explore, that's clear. Who would complain !
1990 ... the transition to the 90s is more or less confidential given the low level of success achieved by this title. No need to worry about them when you see what is on the horizon ...
1991 ... after the end of the 1980s which saw them decline somewhat, here they are back in this new decade in Olympic form to say the least. With the key to a clearly increasing level of success ...
1991 ... a year 1991 which saw them reborn in an impressive way. The top hits follow one another at an incredible speed and it's going to last like that for a few years ...
1991 ... 3 titles will come out during this year 1991 and the 3 will break the house on a planetary level. The group masters its subject perfectly and has been able to adapt perfectly to the latest trends of the moment, to say the least ...
1992 ... a style however atypical to say the least at the beginning of the 90's. The 90's which gives pride of place to ultra-dance sounds. But it takes something for all tastes as they say and this title pleases in any case !

2007 ... they will have crossed the decade 80, then the decade 90. And here they are starting without complex the decade 2000. Not sure that this one is as favorable concerning them as the 2 preceding ones ...
2007 ... all the titles that will come out during this decade are more anecdotal than anything else. Anyway, the adventure was great and the group will undoubtedly remain as one of the most talented of its generation !
2007...even if success has nothing to do with what they knew before, that doesn't prevent them from continuing the adventure. Who would blame them...?
2010...and a new decade to add to a career counter that already has three. Unstoppable little guys !
2010...the important thing for them now is to simply take pleasure in what they do. Isn't that the main thing...?
2016...even if the Singles released are no longer classified, the albums in any case are. This shows that the group still has a significant base audience...
2020...certainly productivity decreases decade after decade but they come back anyway. Less often, that's for sure, but they come back...
2021...an exceptional longevity for a group with more than certain talent. Hence this longevity necessarily...
2021... the only thing we blame them for is that they have trouble keeping up with the latest musical trends of the moment. Hence the fact that the Singles go somewhat unnoticed...
