The Knack is an American group formed in 1977 in Los Angeles by Doug Fieger, Berton Averre, Prescott Niles and Bruce Gary. Originally, Fieger was part of a first group called "Sky". Ephemeral group with very relative success.
The Group released their first album "Get the knack" in 1979 and for a first try, it was a master stroke. The album made a real planetary success (it will end up certified Double-Platinum in the United States and Quadruple Platinum in Canada). Almost two million copies will be sold in the United States alone !
Album which will produce the transcosmic hit "My sharona", one of the biggest successes of the year 1979 on a planetary level. As well as the minor hit "Good girls don’t". The reputation of the group explodes literally.
A year later in 1980 the album "... But the little girls understand" was released. Less successful despite good sales score. Only the title "Baby talks dirty" will be favored by the Charts. And in a place quite modest.
The year 1981 rhymes with the exhaustion of certain members and internal quarrels which begin to seriously undermine the group. It is in these special circumstances that the album "Round trip" is released. An opus whose quality is necessarily lower and whose sales will prove to be significantly lower than the sales of previous albums. Album which will mainly produce the title “Pay the devil (Ooo, Baby, Ooo).
The group will not recover and will end up imploding in the middle of 1982.
He will be reborn in a way that is unexpected, to say the least, but will never again find the level of success that it will have known at the end of the 1970s...

2012...new big air hole a little over 10 years old but they are definitely here again ! It remains to be seen whether this return will indeed be the last…
