Swimming against the stream...

Latin Quarter is an English group formed in 1983 by Steve Skaith and Mike Jones, who were soon joined by Richard Wright, Greg Harewood, Yona Dunsford and Carol Douet. Group whose particularity is to be particularly committed politically speaking especially in the lyrics of its titles.

Group which released its first album "Modern times" in 1985, album which will produce no less than 5 hits, the most successful of which will undoubtedly remain "Radio Africa". Single which will remain as the most emblematic of all their discography.

New album "Mick and Caroline" in 1987, album of lesser success and which produced only one large single with the title "Nomzamo (One people, one cause)".

Other albums will be released later, but none will achieve the same level of success as previous albums, especially the first.

To discover or rediscover.

Clips :

1985 ... first title and first success. Certainly small in scope, but what better way to launch a career in the best possible way !

1985 ... which will surely remain as one of their most emblematic titles. The group confirms here a more than obvious talent which allows them to fit One Shot into the musical legend of the 80s. HU-GE !

1985 ... difficult to compete with the enormous previous title. Even if this title will not even be classified, the quality is once again at the rendezvous and that is the main thing

1985 ... a BIG year 1985 with a plethora of titles and quality on every level. The group demonstrates an astonishing maturity from the first year and we imagine that they will not stop there

1986 ... the great adventure continues with this new success. The group will never know the Top 10 of the Charts but will never have to be ashamed of the quality of the titles they have delivered throughout their journey through this magical decade

1986 ... a title full of finesse which allows them to stay in the big league with obvious ease. This group will not be remembered as the most famous of the decade, but will have proven that he has its place among the elite

1986 ... rarely a group will have mixed styles so much. They deliver here a completely supercharged title which spins at the speed of light. And it works again !

1987 ... as the years 1985 and 1986 were provided in terms of titles, as the year 1987 will appear somewhat pale next to the 2 others. This does not prevent the group from obtaining new success. Who will already be the last unfortunately ...

1987 ... yet another track that spins at the speed of light. They love to go from one extreme to another but the public is starting to get lost, it's clear

1989 ... after an empty year 1988, the group slowly returns to the front of the stage. Unfortunately, this year of absence marginalized them and the public definitely moved on ...

1989 ... even if the group hasn't been on the stars for a while, what they continue to deliver to us is not without interest. The proof with this title !

1993 ... there, it is downright a 4 years air gap that we are witnessing. The group is trying to come back to the 90s, a decade that will unfortunately go too quickly for them ...

1997 ... new 4 years air hole. One might think that the group would have used these breaks to recharge their batteries. Unfortunately, this will never be the case and the group will never be able to adapt to the new musical trends of the moment ...
