The Mock Turtles is an English band formed in Middleton in 1985 and originally consisting of Martin Coogan, Martin Glyn Murray, Steve Cowen, Steve Green and Krzysztof Korab.
Group which released a first single “Pomona” two years later in 1987, a single which unfortunately went somewhat unnoticed. Just like “The Wicker Man” which was released in 1989.
They will begin to make a name for themselves with the following 2 singles “And then she smiles” which will also be released in 1989 and “Lay me down” which will be released a year later in 1990. Two titles that we will find on their first album “Turtle soup” which would also be released in 1990.
An album which will produce another single and not the least, a single called “Can you dig it?” » and which will above all finally bring them the semblance of recognition after which they have been chasing since their beginnings.
A success that was ephemeral to say the least since they would never be able to repeat the feat afterwards.

1987...a first title which shows that this young group has certain potential. It now remains to be seen what he will do with this potential...
