Girls At Our Best! is an English group formed in Leeds in 1979 under the name The Butterflies, originally composed of Judy Evans, James Alan, Gerard Swift, and Chris Oldroyd.
The group released their first Single, "Getting Nowhere Fast," the following year in 1980. This Single garnered attention and, more importantly, brought them their first major success. The same was true for their next Single, "Politics," released shortly after.
They achieved their biggest hit with the Single "Go for Gold" a year later in 1981, the same year that saw the release of their only album, "Pleasure." This album, too, was a hit with the public.
These successes, however, did not prevent the group from disbanding shortly afterward.

Tracks :
1980...the first steps of a shooting star group, like a number of others during that decade of the 80s. Which doesn't mean they were without interest, far from it...
1980...we might as well bring them back into the spotlight as much as possible because they too contributed to enriching the global discography of this blessed decade...
1980...a group that could have lasted because the foundations were good, but fate unfortunately decided otherwise...
1980...and even though they faded into obscurity in the English music scene very quickly, they still managed to place several of their tracks in the independent charts. That's something, at least...
1981...they only produced one album in the end, which certainly doesn't make them the most prolific group of the decade...
1981...but they managed to produce at least one, which isn't the case for all the shooting-star groups of the decade...
1981...admittedly, not all the tracks on this single album are necessarily of a high enough caliber to be ranked, but it doesn't matter, the important thing is to participate, as they say...
1981...if they had pushed the adventure a little further and evolved their sound and style somewhat, anything could have been possible for them...
1981...at first glance, they didn't have the time. But people still talk about them today, which proves that they did leave their mark on history...
1981...it must be said that the competition in England at that time was plentiful and it was clear that there wasn't room in the sun for everyone...
1981...and the competition had already gained a significant lead that the group was unable to close. Such is the harsh reality of the business...
1981...it is clear that some titles were not of a sufficient standard to hope to compete on equal terms with the competition, but one cannot produce only masterpieces, as they say...
1981... but overall the band's level was still quite decent. Okay, the excessive speed present on many tracks didn't help, but still...
1981...since they only produced one album, it was necessary to rediscover most of the tracks from it to create a somewhat substantial discography for them...
