Promised land...

Few interesting information about Joe Smooth, whose real name is Joseph Welbon, except the fact that he is an American producer and DJ best known for having been one of the precursors of the House current.

Artist who will remain mainly in the musical history of this end of the 20th century for the high-caliber single "Promised land" which will be released in 1987.

For this reason alone, we had to devote this article to him.

To discover or rediscover.

Clips :

1987...a first title not devoid of interest but which shows that there is still a little work to do before he can hope to join the big leagues...

1987... the work and the efforts made will pay off even more quickly than expected because the artist will get here the biggest success of all his discography. A dazzling success !

1987...but as always, whoever says lightning success means coming down the mountain faster than expected. It's that the artist will learn at his expense...

1988...unfortunately the artist will never be able to reproduce the feat achieved on 'Promised land', despite an obvious desire to do well...

1989... whatever it is, that does not prevent him from continuing the adventure, it is clear. And in principle, he can always hope for a possible turnaround...

1989... a most hypothetical reversal of the situation, but since music is always possible, who could blame him for continuing to hope...

1989... the production of titles remains substantial anyway. The problem is to know now if the transition to the next decade will be favorable to him, or not...

1990... favorable, yes and no. Favorable because he has indeed moved on to the next decade but it will not succeed more than that. He will therefore have to ask himself the right questions about what to do next...

1996... it will take him 6 years at first sight to ask them. He decides to continue the adventure in the end but without really changing his style. Counterproductive strategy to say the least...

1997...a 1990s decade when he was unable to reinvent himself and which inevitably caused him to stagnate at somewhat mixed levels of success. Too bad because this story started off really well...

1997 ... of course, the titles follow one another at a speed for the less rapid but in this case quantity does not necessarily rhyme with return to grace ...

1997... what he continues to offer is far from deserving but faced with a plethora of competition which does not give any gift, we notice de facto that keeping up with the level becomes more and more complicated for him...

1998...he in any case continues to believe in it and it doesn't matter whether there is success - or not - in the Charts. A desire to believe in it to the end that necessarily commands respect...

1998...a Dance register that will remain its hallmark until the end. With great achievements and a piece that will have made history...

1999...already 2 decades of career on the clock, positive results to say the least. We imagine that we risk finding him again the next decade. To do what, that's another thing...

2003...to do almost the same thing there. Too bad he didn't know - or was able - to reinvent himself according to the musical evolutions of each era...

2004...so he continues the adventure under the same conditions without asking too many questions. He should, he should...

2007... Ultra Dance that gets you moving, that's for sure. There there is an obvious desire to offer something else, we would have liked him to offer this kind of thing long before...

2014...and here he is again in this new decade of 2010. Certainly most of the titles released now are not of his doing, but that at least has the merit of keeping him a little active...

2015...this time, it feels like the end of the adventure. The fact remains that with him everything is possible so it could still be that we find him later...
