Janice McClain is an American singer artistically noticed at the age of 14, at which time she began singing with the vocal ensemble Pieces of a Dream. A vocal ensemble rather oriented in jazz.
But it is especially her uncle Milton Tennant, composer and producer by trade, who will be behind the takeoff of the young singer. Indeed, it allows him to record a first track, first track called "Manhandler", a single track that unfortunately will go somewhat unnoticed ...
This is not the case with the next one, "Smack dab in the middle" which will attract the attention of the RFC label, a subsidiary label of Warner Bros. She will therefore have to wait a few more months before the MCA Records label takes things in hand in 1985 and allows her to release her first - and only album - a year later in 1986. Album which will produce the same year two new singles "Passion and pain" and "Let's spend the night". Two singles that will only experience a very limited level of success ...
Yet another counter-performance that will definitively seal the singer's fate with a career that will continue especially in the service of other singers ...
