Great White is an American band formed in 1977 in Los Angeles and originally formed by Jack Russell and Mark Kendall. The group will first be called 'Highway' then 'Livewire' then 'Wires'.
The group will end up being called Great White in reference to Kendall's naturally blonde-white hair, his white guitar, his white jumpsuit and his white shoes...
Group which released a first mini album "Out of the night" in 1983, mini album which will know a nice success of esteem and especially allow them to sign with the label EMI. Label with which they will release a year later in 1984 their first real album.
A first eponymous album which allows them to obtain a first success in the Charts with the title "Stick it".
New change of label the same year with an arrival at Capital Records, label with which they released the album "Shot in the Dark" in 1986. Album which will do a little better than its predecessor but nothing more.
They will have to wait until 1987 and the release of the album "Once bitten" to finally be rewarded for their efforts with the two flagship singles "Rock me" and "Save your love".
Success confirmed and especially amplified two years later in 1989 with the release of the album "...Twice shy", album which will produce the biggest success of all their discography on the Singles side with the enormous "Once bitten, twice shy". And to a lesser extent "House of broken love" which will also have a nice run in the Charts.
It was in 1991 that planetary consecration arrived with the release of the album "Hooked", an album carried at arm's length by the single "Call it Rock & Roll".
Major successes that will be the last because everything that will come out afterwards will not really experience the same level of success...
