Do you look that good in the morning...

Bobby Nunn is an American singer-songwriter who began his artistic career at the age of 15, teaming up with Gene Coplin to form the duo Bob & Gene in the mid-1960s. The duo remained relatively low-profile in terms of producing well-known hits.

He later worked as a backing vocalist for Rick James's early recordings at Motown in the late 1970s. He then collaborated with Philip Bailey of Earth, Wind & Fire on the album of Splendor, a group he formed with his brother Billy, which released only one album in 1979.

His solo debut came in 1982 with the release of his first album, "Second to Nunn," which brought him his first major personal successes. These included "Got to Get Up on It" and, most notably, "She's Just a Groupie", a Single that remains his highest-charting Single.

A second album, "Private Party," was released a year later in 1983, but it met with less success and struggled to produce Singles comparable to those on the first album.

This second album would be the artist's last.

Tracks :

1979...a first track made with family and under the guidance of Philip Bailey, then at the peak of his abilities...

1979...you can clearly recognize the Earth Wind And Fire sound, but not just anyone can be Earth Wind And Fire, that's for sure...

1979...because this sole Splendor release went largely unnoticed despite its considerable overall quality. A shame...

1982...a sequel that rhymes with a solo start from that year 1982. A solo start that would be rewarded from the outset with the biggest success of his career and that would propel young Bobby to the forefront of the scene in a most spectacular way !

1982...a sequel that will be ranked but will not manage to equal the ranking level of the title that preceded it in any case...

1982... a year that started off with a bang and ended in general indifference, even though this title is far from undeserving. Sometimes you just shouldn't try to understand...

1982...four tracks were released during that year, but only two charted. The other two unfortunately remained relatively unknown...

1983...business is picking up a bit at the start of 1983 thanks to this new title. We'll have to make the most of it because it's not certain this will last very long...

1983...for now it's holding up, but it's possible that 1983 will be his last year as a solo artist. A solo career that will ultimately only last two years...

1983...difficult to understand because this artist had talent, but unfortunately he wasn't able to capitalize on it in the long term...

1983...after that he continued to achieve several major successes and at that level alone the contract is fulfilled as they say...
