John Parr is an English singer-songwriter for the less precocious since he founded at the age of 12 a group called 'The Silence' with 2 school friends, a group which will know a nice success in a way to say the least unexpected. We find him later in a new group called 'Bitter Suite' and then in another called 'Ponders End'.
The solo career meanwhile really starts from 1984, when he released his first Single "Naughty naughty", a Single that will not go unnoticed, far from it. To the point of offering him a success on both sides of the Atlantic, an ideal scenario for an introduction as they say...
But it is above all a year later in 1985 that the artist will reach heights with the title "St Elmo's fire", a title that will be found on the soundtrack of the film of the same name. The title will make a real worldwide hit and offer the singer the biggest success of all his discography on the Singles side.
A feat that he will never be able to reproduce unfortunately despite the release of other Singles thereafter...
