Junior, whose real name is Norman Giscombe, is an English singer-songwriter who started his artistic career by playing backing vocals between 1980 and 1982 for the group Linx.
He released his first solo single "Get up and dance" in 1981, a single that went completely unnoticed. On the other hand, the following single, it will make its glory and its fortune. In fact, "Mama used to say" was released in the aftermath, a huge single that would literally shatter everything in its path and become one of the biggest dance hits of the decade.
Success was confirmed the following year in 1982 when the album "Ji" was released. Album from which another hit will be extracted with the single "Too late", a single which will not know the staggering level of success of the previous one but will largely pull out of the game.
The singer will have other minor successes with titles like "Communication breakdown" in 1983, "Somebody" in 1984 and "Oh Louise" in 1986, but it will never find the same level of success which it will have known during the year 1981.
