A woman’s intuition...

Angie Gold, whose real name is Angelina Kyte, is an English singer born into an artistic family, a family which gave her an early start in the industry, to say the least, since she was found at the age of 8 at performing in Clubs on weekends. She even appeared on TV at the age of 17.

The artistic career really began in 1978 with the production of a first Single “Der Schönste tag” for the Polydor label, a Single which unfortunately went somewhat unnoticed…

It was while participating in the talent show 'Search for a Star' at the age of 22 that she was noticed by the CBS/Epic Sony label, a label which signed her and allowed her to release the Single “Every home should have one” in 1981, a Single which did little better than its predecessor…

A year 1981 which will still see her succeed in finally ranking a title with “Get it over with”, a title which will experience significant success in the land of kangaroos.

The year 1982 saw her release not one, but two albums, starting with “Angie Gold” followed by “A Lady of Gold”. Two albums with mixed success to say the least…

She will have to wait 4 years and the release in 1986 of the album “Applause” to finally see her efforts rewarded with the Single “Eat you up”, a single which will remain as her reference title.

We will find her alongside the group 'People Like Us' in 1988, a group with which she will participate in the production of their titles “Resurrection” and “Two to Tango”.

She will release other solo Singles later but none will break through as they say.

To discover or rediscover...

Tracks :

1978...a first title in German which will not help reveal young Angie in the best possible way. Can and must do better...

1981...here she is back in her native language at the very beginning of the 80s. Singing in English is not going to earn her more than that at this stage...

1981...afterwards we have to give time and given the potential of the young singer we still imagine that great things will happen afterwards...

1981...a year 1981 particularly rich in titles but it doesn't pay off more than that for the moment. We'll have to be a little more patient...

1981...the first ranked title, finally ! Certainly only in Australia but it's already better than nothing as they say...

1982...it's now up to her to gain momentum in order to increase her level of planetary influence and to confirm all the good things we can think of her...

1982...it will not be for this year 1982 unfortunately. There is quality in all this but not enough to propel her to the heights...

1985...we will lose sight of her for 3 years but it is to better find her in this year 1985. She returns in a form that we will describe as certain, so certain that she will achieve the biggest success here of her career. HU-GE !

1985...she will have to take advantage of it because the rest will prove to be significantly less successful in terms of success in the Charts. Cruel turnaround...

1986...yet what she continues to offer is far from unworthy, that much is clear. But the competition is such that the slightest relaxation is paid for in cash...

1987...afterwards that will not prevent her from continuing the adventure and in principle she is absolutely right because in music everything is always possible...

1988...if the will is there a return to grace still remains within the realm of possibility. You just have to believe in it just a little bit more...

1988...that's what she will try to do but the return to favor will unfortunately not take place, at least at the high level...

1988...we will benefit in any case from everything that she continues to offer us because there is really quality in all of that, it is clear...

1989...the level of productivity is reduced to its strict minimum with only one title per year. But better than nothing at all...

1993...she will even try to move to the next decade, telling herself that this change of decade could possibly be favorable to her...

1997...this will not really be the case but the title that she will deliver here in the company of Paul Parker would really have deserved preferential treatment much higher than what it will have been in the end...

2009...when we thought the adventure would go no further, here she is back almost 12 years later. A return that will not change anything unfortunately...
