Light Of The World is an English band formed in 1978, originally composed of Jean-Paul Maunick, Everton McCalla, Paul Williams, Neville McKreith, Chris Etienne, Peter Hinds, Kenny Wellington, and David Baptiste.
The band released their first Single, "Swingin'," in 1979, which immediately brought them significant success. This Single was taken from their self-titled debut album, released the same year, which also produced another hit Single, "Midnight Groovin'."
But it was their next album, "Round Trip," released in 1980, that truly brought them the recognition they had hoped for, thanks in particular to the hit Single "I'm So Happy," which remains their highest-charting album to date.
Other albums and Singles followed, but unfortunately, none achieved the same level of success.

Tracks :
1979...first title and already first success, that's what you call an ideal start. Now it remains to be seen whether it was just a stroke of luck...
1979...a new success which confirms that the previous success was anything but accidental...
1980...a somewhat subdued start to the 80s with this title that went largely unnoticed. Nothing to worry about at this stage, in any case...
1980...business picks up again in the very next title, which can only reassure us about what's to come. Everything is under control...
1980...they dared to tackle one of Bob Marley's seminal tracks from 1973, which was a bold bet, to say the least. A bold bet, but one that paid off nonetheless with this dance version..
1980... a year that will undoubtedly remain their benchmark. Three Singles released and three major hits, this one remaining their most significant...
1980...they were good in both the Dance and Intimist genres, which is often the hallmark of great artists...
1981...while 1980 was a year rich in Single releases, 1981 was somewhat lacking in them, with only one title officially released that year...
1982...they will seriously turn things around in terms of releases the following year, but paradoxically, this will not bring them any profit at all...
1982...four Singles were released during that year, and none of them charted, go figure. A dramatic fall from grace, to say the least...
1982...admittedly, the level of inspiration had dipped somewhat, but not to the point of relegating them to oblivion, surprisingly. Such is the harsh reality of the profession...
1982...what they continue to produce is far from uninteresting and deserved frankly a much wider recognition than it received...
1983...an adventure that would end much sooner than expected, without anyone really knowing why. There was potential to continue a little longer, but fate decided otherwise...
