The Stone Roses is an English band formed in Manchester in 1983 and originally made up of Ian Brown, John Squire, Andy Couzens, Pete Garner and Simon Wolstencroft.
Group which released a first Single “So young/Tell me” in 1985, a title which unfortunately went somewhat unnoticed…
They will have to wait 2 more years and the release in 1987 of the Single "Sally Cinnamon" to see things finally evolve in a positive way with a first success at the key. Success confirmed a year later in 1988 with the release of the title “Elephant stone”.
But they will have to wait another year and the release in 1989 of their first eponymous album to finally move up a gear, notably with the huge Singles "She bangs the drums" and "I wanna be adored".
1989 was an exceptional year in all respects since they also released the Single "Folls gold" off the album, a title that would give them their first planetary mega hit.
They will repeat the feat a year later in 1990 with the release of the title "One love", a title which will in turn be a hit all over the planet and make the group one of the phenomena of the moment.
It will be necessary to wait four years to see the release in 1994 of their new album "Second coming", an album which not only will be as strong as its predecessor but which will above all offer them the biggest success of all their discography with the enormous Single “Love Spreads”.
A feat that they will never be able to reproduce again despite the release of other titles in the years that follow.
