Twisted Sister is an American band formed in 1972 in Ho-Ho-Kus, New Jersey and originally composed of Jay Jay French (real name John French Segall), Kenny Neil, Billy Diamond, Mel 'Star' Anderson and Michael 'Valentine' O'Neil.
For nearly 10 years, the group toured mainly in the United States and began to build a solid reputation. While changing members regularly. They release a first single "I'll never grow up, now !" in 1979, single which will go completely unnoticed. Just like "Bad boys (Of Rock'N'Roll)" in 1980.
It was the signing with the Secrets Records label that would change the game in 1982 with the release of a first album called "Under the blade". Album that produces the single of the same name, which will unfortunately also go unnoticed.
They will have to wait for the following year and another label change in 1983 (this time Atlantic Records) to see their efforts finally paid off. Label with which they realize the album "You can't stop Rock'N'Roll", which produces 3 high caliber singles that are "I am (I'm me)", "The kids are back" and "You can't stop Rock'N'Roll”, 3 singles which paradoxically will work across the Channel but not across the Atlantic.
The consecration, the real one, came a year later in 1984 with the release of the album "Stay hungry", an album which remains to this day their biggest record success on the album side. Flagship album from which will be extracted their two biggest single hits, "I wanna rock" but also, and above all, "We’re not gonna take it".
New album "Come out and play" in 1985, album with less success but success nonetheless. Album which will mainly produce the flagship single "Leader of the pack".
Single which will be the last notorious success of the group because everything that will come out subsequently will only experience a limited level of success ...

1979 ... a first unclassified title but which shows a more than obvious potential in this group. Rather promising for the future ...
1980 ... the transition to the 80s will not change the situation at least for the moment. We will therefore have to be a little more patient before attending the big take-off ...
1982 ... still no improvement in sight for success in the Charts. But don't worry, there is a time when all their efforts will pay off, that's for sure ...
1983 ... efforts that finally pay off with THIS title. The group finally obtains its first classified title and has every reason to hope for the future ...
1983 ... a beginning of recognition which is confirmed with this title. A year 1983 which finally saw the group begin to compete on equal terms with the competition ...
1983 ... three titles for this year 1983 and three classified titles. A shattering entry to say the least into the big leagues !
1984 ... the title of the consecration ! The group obtains here the biggest success of its career and at the same time offers himself a direct ticket for posterity. HU-GE !
1984 ... even if this title will do less well than its predecessor, it allows the group to stay in contact with the best. Hope it lasts !
1984 ... an exceptional year for the group which ends smoothly. At least, in a relative softness because with them, it beats, no matter what ...
1985 ... the group plays it luxury cover on this title with this revisited version of the title of Shangri-Las dating from 1964. And my faith, this punchy version is far from being ridiculous. A daring bet but a winning bet !
1985 ... paradoxically, no soft title will have worked. While they are far from demerit in this area. Sometimes you don't have to try to understand ...
1987 ... the last classified title. A group which will not have remained as the best in its category but which largely had its place in the big leagues, that's clear !
1998 ... 11 years will separate this title from the previous one. We thought they were definitely lost but it was bad to know them. Unfortunately, the Phoenix will not be able to rise from its ashes ...
