All for Love & Love for All...

Few interesting information about The Lilac Time except the fact that it is an English group formed in 1986 in Herefordshire and originally composed of brothers Stephen and Nick Duffy and Michael Weston.

Group which will remain mainly in the musical history of this end of the 20th century for the high-caliber single "All for love & love for all" which will be released in 1990.

For this reason alone, we had to devote this article to them.

To discover or rediscover.

Clips :

1987...a first title that will go somewhat unnoticed. Yet everything is already there, both in terms of style and sound...

1988...the second try will be the good one. This time, the group wins its first ranked title and finds himself thrown into the light for good...

1988... it is clear that his style will never allow him to produce a major hit, but that will not prevent him from having a career worthy of the name. It's already that...

1989...the style evolves somewhat at the very end of the decade and this time allows them to classify this title on both sides of the Atlantic. Like what, there really wasn't much missing...

1989...but on this one the overspeed isn't really going to help. With the immediate sanction of total disinterest on the part of the public...

1989...this one won't do much better. After an encouraging start to say the least, the group does not manage to confirm all the good that one could think of him. Watch out for danger...

1990...it's the transition to the next decade that will allow them to come back in the race in a spectacular way. Here they land the biggest success of their entire discography and at the same time offer themselves a direct ticket to posterity. HU-GE !

1990...the sequel will unfortunately be much less favorable to them. The previous title will have been their last ranked title and everything that will come out now will go unnoticed to say the least...

1990... frankly too bad because what they continue to produce is not devoid of quality, far from it. But the tastes of the public change quickly and they will pay the price...

1991...here they are in Ballad mode just to vary the pleasures a bit. It starts from a good feeling but it won't bring them more than that...

1991...the art of going from one extreme to another. We can't really say that this title closely or remotely resembles its predecessor, that's clear...

1999...we will lose sight of them for nearly 8 years and here they are back at the very end of the 90s. A return in relative form or at least insufficient to put them back in the race...

2003...the adventure continues in this new decade of 2000 and it remains to be seen whether they intend to adapt to the latest musical trends or not. For the moment, we are not really taking the path...

2003...an astonishing country base to complement songs released during this decade. Bold bet and especially risky bet...

2003... risky bet and bet almost lost in advance but with a result not devoid of interest. The inspiration is enough for us to take a minimum interest in these titles...

2007...we lose sight of them for almost 4 years and here they are again in this new year 2007 on roughly the same bases as 2003. Same bases therefore same absence of results in the Charts...

2007...whether there is success or not doesn't matter to them now at first sight. The main thing is therefore elsewhere, surely in the pleasure of doing what we do, quite simply...

2007... it is clear that it is not easy to reinvent oneself in this 2000 decade when one comes from the 80s. Because this beginning of the 21st century does not really have a predefined style, hence it is difficult to find the right measure...

2015... there it is downright 8 years that will separate this title from the previous one. The air holes become more and more violent but they still come back every time...

2015...the style will have changed very little between each decade, an assumed bias but which inevitably marginalizes. Too bad because by evolving a little things could have been very different in terms of success...

2015... after everyone leads his career as he sees fit. There are those who seek success at all costs and others who simply continue for fun. Here it is necessarily the 2nd category that prevails...

2019...and it will be like that until the end, if there ever is an end. Because they come back again and again and no matter what is happening around them. An astonishing career...

2019 ... so we imagine that this year 2019 will surely not be the last year of activity. There is a good chance that we will find them in a few years...

2019...the last title ? With them, never say never. Now it remains to be seen if they intend to return to the same arrangements or if they still intend to evolve somewhat...
