The Big Dish is a Scottish band formed in Airdrie in 1983, originally consisting of Steven Lindsay, David Brownlie, Stuart Hall, Mark Ryce and John Harper.
Group which released a first Single “Big new beginning” in 1985, a Single which unfortunately went somewhat unnoticed…
Which will not be the case for the second “Prospect Street”, a Single which will also be released the same year and which will above all offer them their first success, admittedly small in scale, but all the same.
The year 1986 saw the release of their first album "Prospect Street", an album which was certainly classified but in the depths of the ranking. Album from which 2 new high-calibre Singles will still be extracted : “Slide” again in 1986 and “Christina’s world” in 1987.
A relative success that they could not even confirm two years later in 1988 when their new album "Creeping up on Jesus" was released, an album which went completely under the radar and which narrowly escaped thanks to the title " European rain”.
They will have to wait 3 more years and the year 1991 to finally see their efforts rewarded as much as their hopes with the release of the album “Satellites”. Album which will finally find its audience and produce their biggest success on the Singles side with the title “Miss America”.
An adventure that will not go any further because the group will separate some time later...

1985...a first title which will go somewhat unnoticed despite a certain quality. But the basics are there anyway...
1985...this time will be the good one with from the 2nd title a first success to the credit of the group. Certainly a small hit but a hit all the same...
1986...the rise in power is slow but definitely real. It is certain that the group will end up producing at least 1 big reference title...
1987...year after year the group increases its level of ranking in the Charts which necessarily bodes well for the rest of the events...
1988...despite the indicators which are almost all green, for the big takeoff, we will have to be a little more patient...
1988...a title which will only be released in England, hence a limited level of influence to say the least. Too bad because he deserved better as they say...
1989...this one, on the other hand, will only be released in the United States. Limited releases which necessarily prevent the titles from being rewarded according to their merits...
1991...they will have to wait for the transition to the next decade to achieve the semblance of consecration after which they have been chasing since their beginnings. it’s now done with THIS title !
1991...unfortunately, after reaching the top of the mountain the descent will be violent to say the least. With a severe fall in the Charts followed by a pure and simple disappearance of the group...
1991...come on, the adventure isn't quite over. We will enjoy the little produced until the end knowing that there will be no more behind...
