What time is it...

Kane Gang is an English trio formed in Seaham in 1982 and originally made up of Martin Brammer, Paul Woods and Dave Brewis. Group whose name would be a reference to the movie Citizen Kane.

Trio who released a first Single "Brother, brother" in 1983, a Single that would go unnoticed to say the least...

It was the signing with the London Records label the following year in 1984 that would completely change the situation. A signature that allows the release of several successful Singles the same year including "Smalltown creed", "Clothest thing to heaven" and "Respect yourself".

Titles that we find a year later in 1985 on their first album "The bad and lowdown world of The Kane Gang", an album which will also know the favors of the public.

New successful album two years later in 1987 with the release of "Miracle", an album which allowed the group to extend its success on both sides of the Atlantic. Album that will produce the biggest Single of their entire - short - discography namely "Motortown". And to a lesser extent "Don't look any further".

Two successful Singles which will be the last because the adventure will not go further than this year 1987 unfortunately.

To discover or rediscover...

Tracks :

1983...the first steps which show a certain potential. A potential that will not pay more than that on this title but let time to time...

1984 ... the group enters the Charts from the second title as what it did not take long to see them integrate the big leagues ...

1984... the success even becomes planetary from this title. The rise in power is linear and allows the group to establish himself more and more as one of the beautiful revelations of this mid-1980s...

1984... they are going to revisit here the title of the Staple Singers dating from 1971 and my faith the result will be at least up to par. Good job...

1985...after a year 1984 which will have seen them reveal themselves in an obvious way, the year 1985 will seem a little pale next to it. With only one title on the counter and the success of the most limited...

1987... when we thought that the group was going to continue to decelerate here he is back 2 years later in a form that we will qualify as certain. So certain that they will land here the biggest hit of their entire discography. HU-GE !

1987...the art of going from one extreme to another. This title will not even be classified, it's what we call a reversal of the situation, to say the least brutal...

1987... new luxury cover this time of the title of Dennis Edwards dating from 1984. A revisited version which will not go unnoticed but which will sign the end of the adventure for the group unfortunately...
