They dreamed of another world...

Téléphone is a French group formed in 1976 by a quartet of Jean Louis Aubert, singer, Richard Kolinka, drummer, Louis Bertignac, singer guitarist and Corine Marienneau, bassist.

The adventure begins on November 12 of the same year, when Aubert and Kolinka are looking for an evening concert for 2 musicians in an emergency and they meet Bertignac and Marienneau.

Alchemy works immediately. The concerts follow one another successfully.

The first single "Hygiaphone" was released in 1977 and is a hit.

The group signed in stride with the Pathé-Marconi label. This allows the group to release their first album which will become a gold record.

Then there is the album "Crache ton venin" which was released in 1979, album which contains what will surely remain as one of their greatest composition namely "La bombe humaine".

In 1980 the album "Au coeur de la nuit" was released, which contained the single "Argent trop cher". It is the year 1981 which will prove to be the year of the consecration with the signing at a new label namely Virgin.

The fourth album "Dure limite" was recorded in Toronto and received exceptional promotion.

Over 700,000 copies will be sold. In particular thanks to flagship titles like "Ca (c'est vraiment toi"), or "Cendrillon".

In 1982, supreme luxury, they provided the first part of the Rolling Stones at the Hippodrome d'Auteuil.

Under the impulse of Branson, CEO of Virgin, the group tries to export abroad : it is a failure.

1984 is the year too many : the group is tired.

This does not prevent them from releasing the album "Un autre monde which reflects their sullen mood at the time.

The album is still a success, especially thanks to the clip directed by Jean Baptiste Mondino.

A last single was released in 1986: "Le jour s'est levé", a single which would be their last success.

Téléphone will always have a special place in the hearts of the French, as much by its status as a pioneer group in French rock, as by the personality of its members, 2 of which are still active and one which is particularly prolific even today (Jean Louis Aubert).
