Peabo Bryson, whose real name is Robert Peapo Bryson, is an American singer-songwriter who began his artistic career at the age of 14 by singing for a local group from Greensville 'Al Freeman And The Upsetters'.
Then we find him two years later in a new group called 'Moses Dillard And The Tex-Town Display', a group that he will accompany during his tour of the Chitlin' Circuit (a set of concert halls in the American Midwest which allowed African-American artists to perform on stage during the segregationist period of the 1960s).
It is the Bang Records label that will identify the enormous potential of the young artist, a label that will allow him to compose his first songs, especially for others.
We find him in 1975 playing the luxury singers for Michael Zagger Band on the title "Do it with feeling", a title that will allow the young singer to finally know the high level.
The solo career, meanwhile, really started in 1976 with the release of a first album "Peabo" under the Bullet Records label. Album which will know a nice success of esteem and launch for good the career of the young Robert.
New label in 1977 and signing with Capitol Records, a label that allowed him to release 2 new albums the following year in 1978, just that, with "Reaching for the sky" and "Crosswinds". Two albums which offer him his first two notorious successes on the album side and which will mainly produce the Singles "Reaching for the sky" and "I'm so into you".
Other albums will come out later but it is especially the album "Born to love", album where he co-stars with Roberta Flack, which will make his glory and his fortune in 1983. The album will make a real planetary success and offer him his biggest success on the Singles side with the title "Tongiht, I celebrate my love".
Another major success the following year in 1984 with the album "Straight from the heart", an album whose flagship Single was "If ever you're in my arms again".
New duet of shock and charm in 1987 on the album "Positive", album where we find him in charming company on the title "Without you", title which he co-performs with Regina Belle.
The duets bringing him luck are the soundtracks of Disney films that will allow him to inscribe his name for good in the Musical Hall of Fame of the 80s: first on the soundtrack of "Beauty and the Beast", title which he performed in a duet with Celine Dion in 1991. Then "Aladdin" where he once again found Regina Belle in 1992. Two titles which would experience a most favorable planetary destiny and which would win him 2 Grammy Awards !
He will experience a last major success, still as a duet, but this time 100 % masculine on the title "By the time this night is over". Title where he co-starred with Kenny G in 1993.
Other albums will be released later but none will be able to make him find the top of the bill unfortunately.
