Ordinary average guy...

Joe Walsh, whose real name is Joseph Walsh, is an American singer-songwriter who really started his artistic career in 1965 when he joined a group of Kent State University students called 'The Measles'. Group that will stay in history mainly for 2 titles released in 1967, "I find I think of you" and "And it's true", under the group name 'The Ohio Express'.

We find him in a new group called 'James Gang' from the year 1968, a group with which he produced a first successful album "Yer' album" a year later in 1969. But it is mainly the albums " James Gang rides again" in 1970 and "Third" in 1971 which would bring the artist his first major successes with the Singles "Funk #49" and "Walk away".

New group change at the end of 1971 with the creation of 'Barnstorm', a new adventure which produced two albums, "Barnstorm" in 1972 and "The smoker you drink, the player you get" in 1973. Two albums that will experience significant success…

New change in 1975 and not the least since he will join the 'Eagles' group. An integration which is done despite the reluctance of the leader of the group Don Henley compared to the side a little too free electron of Walsh.

A significant contribution of talent and which will produce its effects in any case through the production of the new album of the group, a new album called..."Hotel California" ! Album which will produce the incredible Single of the same name, which will literally explode the notoriety of the group.

A great adventure that will last no less than 5 years and see the production of an impressive number of very high caliber Singles.

This will not prevent him from the year 1974 to also play it solo with the release of a first album "So what". Album which will produce mainly two Singles “Help me trough the night” and “Song for Emma”. Two titles in tribute to his daughter killed in a road accident…

New solo album in 1978 with the release of “But seriously, folks…”, an album with great success in particular thanks to the Single “Life’s been good”, a Single which satirically depicts the effects of stardom…

The solo consecration, the real one, comes 3 years later with the release in 1981 of the album "There goes the Neighborhood". Album which will produce the biggest success of the artist on the Singles side with the title "A life of illusion".

New album “You bought it, you name it” in 1983, an album that did not meet with the most enthusiastic reception from critics. Album that will come out just fine thanks to the high-caliber Single “Space age whiz kids”.

The artist will release other albums thereafter but these will only know a level of success, to say the least, limited...

To discover or rediscover.

Clips :

1967...the very first steps of a young singer who, at this stage, had no idea of the enormous career that awaited him behind...

1967 ... in any case from the beginning he already manages to get noticed. Certainly we are far from what he will know later but it all starts pretty well...

1969...here he arrived in the James Gang, a new adventure that will allow him to experience a first significant success with this title...

1970...success confirmed and amplified the following year. The rise of the group is linear and brings them closer and closer to the leading pack...

1971... efforts that ended up paying off in any case since the group was to achieve the biggest success of his entire career here. At least it's done...

1971...new major success in stride. The group is on a certain dynamic of success and the young Joe takes advantage of every moment as much as he can...

1972...new change of partners and here he is now within Barnstorm. New adventure that will only last a few years but important new adventure all the same...

1972...young Joe grows stronger year after year, group after group. We suspect that all this accumulated experience will inevitably end up paying off to the highest degree...

1973...everything is now ready for the big take-off. All that remains is to find THE group, or THE title, which will finally allow him to pass the last level on which he stumbles...

1974... the big take-off will not take place immediately but we are getting closer to it for sure. Still a little patience...

1974...here he delivers an opus in homage to his 3-year-old daughter who died in a car accident. A tragedy that he will try to exorcise through several titles including this one...

1974...a little girl named Emma whom he will celebrate as much as he can through his music. A test of life that will mark forever...

1975...he covers a Barnstorm title dating from 1972 and at the same time offers himself a new star to add to a prize list that is beginning to number a few...

1976...this time he comes out of the drawers a title of the James Gang dating from 1971. A title with relative success but success all the same...

1976...then comes THE group and THE title that will change everything. By integrating the Eagles, he would never have imagined that he would enter the legend in such a sensational way. It is now done !

1978...in parallel with the incredible Eagles adventure, he continues to produce titles on his own and he will even achieve here the biggest success of his entire solo career. With the key to a direct ticket for posterity well deserved !

1978...this one will not really know the same level of success but it is obvious that he cannot garner the top hits like others thread the pearls...

1980... here he is at the gates of a new decade which will not turn out to be as favorable for him as the previous one unfortunately...

1981... which will not prevent him from continuing the adventure beyond measure. And in principle he is right because there will still be some nice successes at stake...

1981...certainly we are not talking about mega hits but all the same. As long as there is still a minimum in the Charts everything is possible...

1981...you have to remember that he started his career in 1969, which is still starting to do in terms of career length...

1982...a longevity that we find as always only among the most gifted of each generation. Of which he is necessarily a part...

1983...he was right to hang on because he was to achieve another notorious and unexpected success here. Like what, in music, everything is always possible...

1983... he will never be able to repeat the feat thereafter but for him the essential thing is to continue to take pleasure in what he does, quite simply...

1985...a title that doesn't really look like he usually does. On the other hand, showing another facet of his talent does not harm, quite the contrary...

1987 ... we find him 2 years later in a very different style once again. Definitely, exploring new musical tracks seems to be his new priority...

1987...we're not going to lie to each other, the best years are now behind him. But what he continues to offer is far from unworthy, that's clear...

1991 ... and here he begins his 4th decade of career which is not nothing. Always there, always faithful to the post and determined not to let go of anything as always...

1991...we therefore hope that the 90s will at least allow him to stay afloat. The future will tell us...

1992 ... he will manage to maintain himself but the level of productivity will still seriously fall, at least at the personal career level. We suspected that it would necessarily happen at one time or another...

1992...we will in any case benefit from the little produced. As long as he continues to produce a minimum, there is still hope somewhere in him...

2007... we will lose sight of him for nearly 15 years, fifteen years where he will mainly play luxury guitarists for other artists. But here he is again and this time in the company of former colleagues and not the least...

2012...he will attempt a solo comeback at the very beginning of the decade. A return that will not produce any classified single but his new album, on the other hand, will indeed be classified...

2012...like what, with him, nothing is ever over. Excellent news for the basic fans who no longer believed in it...

2012...now remains to be seen if he will have the courage to come back again. Only he knows the answer as they say...
