Peter and Sloane is a French duo formed in 1984 by Jean-Pierre Savelli and Chantal Richard.
Jean-Pierre Savelli started his musical career in the early 70s.
Chantal Richard, she started later, at the beginning of the 80s. First member of the Bande à Basile, she is also a chorister for certain artists, notably for a beginner by the name of ... Céline Dion.
Their meeting in 1984 produced one of the biggest huge title of the 1980s on the French side, namely the cult "Besoin de rien envie de toi".
Leading the French Top50 for nine consecutive weeks, it will sell more than a million copies. It’s a colossal success that will propel them to the rank of stars overnight.
In 1985, they released the single "C'est la vie de chateau avec toi", followed in 1986 by "Pour tous ceux qui vont s'aimer". Unfortunately, the success is no longer there and the public's enthusiasm for the couple is gradually fading.
Deep disaffection which sounds the death knell for the magic duo which ends up separating shortly after.
