Elli Medeiros is a singer of Uruguayan origin who started her musical career at the age of 4 in the opera Madame Butterfly.
Daughter of actress Mirtha Medeiros, she left Uruguay for Argentina at the age of 9. She will stay there for 5 years before coming to settle this time in France.
Around the age of 20, she formed with her partner Jacno and a few friends one of the first and rare French punk groups, namely "Stinky Toys".
They will give some concerts in London with phenomena such as "The Clash" or the "Sex Pistols". And Malcolm McLaren will even come to take an interest in them.
The group separated after two albums and the two lovebirds formed the pop duo "Elli & Jacno" which knew its heyday in the early 80s.
After a few albums, a new separation and this time Elli Medeiros began a solo career, helped by her new companion Ramuntcho Matta with whom she produced the album "Bom bom".
Album from which the cult "Toi mon toit" was extracted in 1986 and "A bailar Calypso" in 1987. Both of them will be very successful. The notoriety of the singer explodes and she becomes one of the flagship figures of the moment in France.
Multi talented, she also publishes comics, creates clothes and accessories and turns in films.
From 1990, she put her career aside and devoted herself mainly to her family.
