Douchka, whose real name is Douchka Esposito, is a French singer whose parents are none other than the actress Pascale Petit and the poet Giani Esposito and who began her artistic career at the age of 12 as a model for the Elite agency !
At 21, she became Disney's ambassador in France, an honorary position that changed her fate overnight when asked to sing along to a song called "1,2,3...Mickey, Donald et moi". Title that will make a real hit in France to the point of selling more than 400,000 copies in France.
A huge success amplified by the release the same year of an album called "Elementaire, mon cher Baloo", from which the Single of the same name will be extracted. New success which allows the young singer to become one of the biggest phenomena of the moment in France.
The great adventure continued the following year with the release in 1985 of the album “Taram et le chaudrin magique", an album that produced no less than 3 new big successes with the Singles “Zorro…Je chante parce que je t'aime”, “La chanson de Zorro” and “Taram et le chaudron magique".
The year 1986 saw the release of the album "Basil", which produced the flagship Single "Basile, détective privé". Then in 1987, it was the turn of the album "Bernard et Bianca" to come out, album whose biggest success was the Single of the same name.
The end of the 1980s saw her switch slowly but surely to television animation for children's programs. A gradual reorientation that forces her to break her contract with Disney.
A reorientation that unfortunately will not really benefit her because her television experiences come to an end and the literary and musical experiments that she will attempt during the 1990s will only be very successful. Very relative successes which will end up completely marginalizing her to the point of seeing her completely disappear from the radar at the end of the decade.
She will return later but what she produces will only meet with a weak response from the public.
