Basia, whose real name is Barbara Stanislawa Trzetrzelewska, is a Polish singer-songwriter best known for having been the lead singer of the group Matt Bianco.
She began her artistic career in the late 1960s with a Polish group called 'Astry'. But it is the manager of the all-female group 'Alibabki' who will really put the foot in the stirrup by offering to join the group in 1972. Group with which she will perform for 2 years in Poland and in several countries of the former Eastern bloc.
The mid-1970s saw her go back on her own, unfortunately a short-lived adventure. Then we find her later in Chicago in another group called 'Perfect' from 1977 to 1979, with which she performed Polish folk songs at the Community Center.
It was in the early 1980s that things finally started to move when she decided to move to London in 1981. Place where she will meet Danny White and Mark Reilly. The trio formed a first group named ''Bronze in 1983, which was quickly renamed 'Matt Bianco'.
A group that will quickly become a real global phenomenon thanks to the enormous album "Whose side are you on ?" in 1984. Album which will notably produce the flagship Singles" Get out of your lazy bed", "Half a minute", "Whose side are you on", as well as the sumptuous "More than I can bear".
This did not prevent the singer, as well as Danny White, from leaving the ship a year later in 1985 to allow the latter to start a solo career. Collaboration that produced a first Single "Prime time TV" in 1986. Single with somewhat mixed success ...
First solo album in 1987 with the release of "Time and Tide", album which will finally launch the singer's career for good. An album carried at arm's length by 2 enormous Singles which are "New day for you" and "Time and tide".
But the solo recognition, the real one, will come 3 years later in 1990 with the release of what will remain as her biggest success on the album side, namely "London Warsaw New York". Album which will make a real planetary success and show in a dazzling way that the singer can quite exist by herself at the highest level. With the result two new international class Singles with "Baby you’re mine" but also, and above all, "Cruising for bruising".
We will have to wait 4 years and the year 1994 to see the release of the album "The sweetest illusion", an album with less success than its 2 predecessors and which above all will be unable to produce any Single of global class. The fall is severe to say the least and the album will only save the furniture thanks to the title "Drunk on love".
A counter-performance that will shatter its clear ascent to the stars and bring her brutally to the floor of the cows. She will release a few Singles with very limited success at the end of the 90s and will attempt an impossible comeback during the 2000s but nothing will help, the success will unfortunately elude her in an irreversible way.

Matt Bianco adventure :
Tracks :
1986 ... after having left in an incomprehensible way the incredible adventure Matt Bianco, here she is now in solo/duet with the second defector of their former group namely Danny White. A new adventure that starts off pretty well with this first classified title ...
1986 ... it got off to a good start but the lack of success on this second title will somewhat dampen their enthusiasm. Like what, we may come from one of the most prestigious groups of the moment, we are unfortunately not immune to failures ...
1987 ... business resumes fortunately in this year 1987. We suspected all the same that with such potential the singer was not going to do only some figuration during her solo career ...
1987 ... yet another title that will pass 'through'. Definitely, it's almost 1 in 2 since the start of her solo career. And yet once again this title is not devoid of interest, far from it ...
1987 ... the Matt Bianco style is still omnipresent and we can tell that the duo left with it when they left the group. A style that always pays as much in any case since here she finally obtains her first global success as an individual ...
1987 ... success confirmed and amplified with this title. It took a long time to take off at the solo level but now that it's done, it's going, to say the least !
1990 ... she will disappear from the radar for almost 3 years and she is back in great shape at the start of the new decade. In great shape but all in finesse all the same on a title which will bring her a new star on a prize list which is already starting to count a certain number ...
1990 ... a year 1990 which saw her achieve her 2 biggest successes in quick succession. Few singers of her generation have known the consecration as much in group as in solo. A double performance that we can only salute !
1990 ... unbelievable as it may seem, the bellows will fall as quickly as it was mounted at the start of the decade. To never go back unfortunately ...
1990 ... she does not just collapse in the Charts, she disappears altogether. How could the situation have turned at such a speed. Incomprehensible...
1993 ... new 3 years air hole and return in this year 1993 in a form which will be qualified as average. Not enough in any case to get back into the race ...
1994 ... a beginning of 1994 which does not bode well for major changes in the following events. Her particular style, which was her strength until then, has now become more of a drag than anything else ...
1994 ... a slight brightening on the success side will appear stealthily in the singer's landscape with this title. Not sure that this is enough to keep her afloat for very long ...
1994 ... the last 'little' hit. She had everything she needed to do great things but her refusal to evolve will have undermined a career that should have been one of the most brilliant of all the singers of her generation ...
1995 ... we can't fault her much except the fact that her style does not really correspond to what the younger generations expect. But other than that, there is really talent in this singer ...
1998 ... she finally takes the measure of the latest musical trends and finally adapts to them. But it is unfortunately far too late to catch up with the leading pack now ...
1999 ... an adaptation which only lasted the time of a title. She goes straight back to her comfort zone and saws the branch on which she is sitting a little more ...
2009 ... there, it's downright 10 years that separates this title from the previous one. We could have hoped to see her come back metamorphosed and ready to do battle with the younger generation. Hope disappointed unfortunately ...
2009 ... now she does more some figuration than anything else. Really a shame that with such potential things turned out this way ...
2010 ... there is nothing more than to hope for a hypothetical return to the front of the stage. We would have loved to see her take risks and venture into musical fields totally unknown to her ...
2011 ... until the end she will have remained braced on her jazzy fundamentals. What worked perfectly during the 80s and 90s cannot work in the following ones, especially in this very particular musical register ...
2018 ... impossible to stop her anyway. Her will to believe in it until the end commands respect but the young generation does not care as they say ...
2018 ... an adventure that ends in finesse with this title. But with her, everything is still possible. Who knows if she won't come back the next decade. So to follow ...
