Voices of independence...

Pink Project is a concept-project launched by Italian producers Luciano Ninzatti and Stefano Pulga, a concept-project based on the idea of producing titles that are actually a mix of several musically similar titles.

The other peculiarity of the group is that the musicians will refuse to reveal their true identity and will appear on stage masked or dressed in hooded clothing reminiscent of the Ku Klux Klan...

The group will release a first title "Disco project" in 1982 and for a first title it is a real masterstroke since the title will be a real hit all over the Old Continent. Huge success due to the particularly successful mix of the titles Mammagamma and Sirius by Alan Parsons Project with the title Another brick in the Wall Part 2 by Pink Floyd. Title considered to this day as one of the first Mash-Ups in history…

A year 1982 which will also see them release a first album "Domino", an album with significant success...

New major success a year later in 1983 with the Single "B. project" which this time combines Billie Jean by Michael Jackson and Jeopardy by Greg Kihn Band. Title taken from their new album "Split".

A success that will be the last because the adventure will not go further unfortunately...

To discover or rediscover.

Clips :

1982...first title and direct global hit for this concept-project which had the brilliant idea of mixing successful titles from other renowned bands like here with Alan Parsons Project and Pink Floyd. Simple idea but oh so effective when done well !

1982...certainly they are not going to do it again on each new title which will leave a little margin to release titles that are a little more original on the substance...

1982...but in the end most of their titles will still be adaptations of other people's titles. With more or less success...

1982...this adaptation of the titles of Falco and Trio will also pass under the radar but each time they at least try...

1982...this time they once again associate the Alan Parsons Project with a new young man named Jean-Michel Jarre. Nice try again...

1983...this title will be almost as strong as their very first one. All you have to do is select the right tracks to mix and it's done...

1983 ... this time they mix Stevie Wonder and Herbie Hancock with a result once again at the height. But who will not have the same level of impact as the others unfortunately...

1983... the totally improbable mixture of Police and Ben E. King only takes moderately on this one. Like, it doesn't always work...

1983... the group will manage to save the furniture in extremis with this title but it will indeed be the last time because the adventure will not go further than this year 1983...

1983...in the end, an adventure that was original to say the least and showed brilliantly that you can make new quality with old as long as it is of good quality too !
