Princess Erika, whose real name is Erika Dobong'na, is a French singer who first became known not as a singer but as a French athletics champion ! Title she won in 1979 in 2 distinct disciplines, namely hurdles and long jump.
Her artistic career really started in 1982 when she joined the group 'Blackheart Daughters', a group founded by her own sister Esther, better known as Estha Divine. Then we find her later in a new group 'Princess And The Royal Sound'.
She will still have to wait until 1988 to see her solo career take off in a certain way with the huge Single "Too much blah-blah". Single which reveals her to the eyes of the general public and offers her her first major hit.
New single "Tendress" the following year in 1989, Single which unfortunately does not confirm the enormous enthusiasm of the public encountered on its first title.
She will have to wait 3 more years and the year 1992 to release a first eponymous album, an album from which the title "Calomnie" will be extracted. The two will only know a level of success, to say the least relative…
The album "D'origine" which was released in 1995 will not go unnoticed far from it, thanks in particular to what will remain as its most emblematic title, namely "Faut qu'j'travaille".
We will find her in 1997 alongside Marc Lavoine on the excellent title "Men are women like the others".
Other albums and other Singles will be released later but will not allow the singer to repeat the feat achieved on "Faut qu'j'travaille"...

1997... who could have imagined seeing her in a duo with Marc Lavoine whose musical style differs somewhat from hers. And yet this unexpected duo will work from the fire of God, like what !
1999...the 80s will have seen her hatch but it's really the 90s that will have seen her take off in a way that is impressive to say the least. It remains to be seen what the decade to come has in store for her...
1999... what is certain is that she must not rest on its laurels because the next generation is growing behind and the competition will not give her any gift, that's clear...
1999...for the moment nothing to worry about but it is clear that she will have to reinvent herself at one time or another to be able to stay in the race...
2005...we will lose sight of her for almost 6 years but here she is again anyway. It remains to be seen what she brings back with her in terms of a musical project…
2005...she returns with the same fundamentals as during the previous decade. As much as they worked the previous time, as much it could be that they serve her more than anything else during this new decade...
