A Split Second is a Belgian band formed in 1985, originally a solo project orchestrated by Marc Heyndrickx, better known as Marc Ickx. Which will team up some time later with Peter Bonne and Geert Coppens.
A first self-produced album called “Stained impressions” was released the same year, an album that went somewhat unnoticed. Just like the single "Flesh" which was released a year later in 1986.
The album "Ballistic statues" which came out in 1987 did not do much better. Ditto for the single "Rigor mortis" from which it will be extracted.
They will have to wait for the year 1988 and the release of the album "From the inside" to finally see their efforts rewarded. In particular thanks to the release of several singles including "Mambo witch" in 1988 and "The colosseum crash" in 1989.
New album "Kiss of fury" in 1990, album which will mainly produce the flagship single "The parallax view".
Other albums will be released later but none will manage to produce a hit worthy of the name unfortunately.

1986 ... the style, like the sound, are trends but unfortunately that is not always enough. But the basics are good, that's clear !
1987 ... Belgian groups have always been recognizable by their astonishing and often extraordinary sounds. For good and for bad. This is no exception to the rule, it is clear !
1988 ... the beginning of recognition. Certainly, the group will never reach stratospheric heights at the level of success but he will never have been ridiculous, far from it !
1988 ... an atypical sound that will necessarily have marginalized them. Originality always comes at a cost and the group, like many Belgian colleagues, will suffer the consequences ...
1989 .... the peak of their career. This title will not end at the top of the Charts but will surely remain as one of their most emblematic. Once again in their particular style ...
1990 ... they will even try the passage to the decade 90. The problem is that their sound is darkening more and more and that it is clear that this is not how they risk to attract the general public ...
1991 ... a last title to close an adventure for the less original. The group will have remained constant in the shifted side, with an inevitable marginalization in the long term ...
