The Lambada, they don't like it...

Les Garçons Bouchers is a French group formed in 1986 and originally composed of Eric Liszt, François Hadji-Lazaro, Blank, Riton and Daniel. A band that really saw the light of day a year earlier under the name 'Bolshoskins', a band itself born out of the ashes of another band called 'Colditz'.

UFO group of the 1980s as much by its totally atypical style which mixes Ska, Punk and Musette influences as by its often trashy song lyrics, he will remain mainly in the musical history of this decade with titles like "Carnivore", "Le Rap des Garçons Bouchers” but also, and above all, “La Lambada on n'aime pas ça”.

For that reason alone, we had to devote this article to them.

To discover or rediscover...

Tracks :

1986 ... a first title which immediately sets the trend : with this group, we're going to be trashy and supercharged. Now that we have been warned, nothing more to fear as they say ...

1987 ... it is clear that with such a style the group is unlikely to reach the general public. Afterwards, not sure that this is also their core target ...

1987 ... the title which will finally allow them to go from the shadows to the light. Not sure that they stay there very long under the light but the hardest part is done anyway ...

1988 ... an 80s decade which allowed all styles to coexist, even the most improbable like this one. Ah what a beautiful time ...

1988 ... we would never have imagined them daring to venture into a field like the Intimist. It must be said that they have a very personal view of this particular area ...

1989 ... a revisited version to say the least supercharged and especially particularly trash of "No milk today" of Herman's Hermits dating from 1966. You had to dare this one, they did it !

1990 ... the title which will remain as one of their most emblematic. They revisit once again a title that has become a reference, namely "La Lambada" by Kaoma released a year earlier in 1989. And they make it an 'anti-Lambada' that no one would have imagined doing of course ...

1990 ... anyway, the style, like the sound, evolved somewhat at the start of the 90s. And rather for the better. On the other hand, on the lyrics side, everything is stable in the trash ...

1992 ... in a decade of 90 where everything is Ultra Dance, the group is totally UFO figure. But we will not remake them again as they say ...

1992 ... they can imagine that with such a style they are unlikely to finish N°1 of the French Top50. Afterwards, their motivations are necessarily elsewhere, we imagine ...

1992 ... a group that played provocatively from start to finish. Too bad they didn't make the necessary efforts to try to calm things down a bit at some point ...

1995 ... an adventure that will have lasted almost 10 years. A real feat given the musical niche in which they have decided to exercise ...

1995 ... we suspected that they would not last for decades, but their will to believe in them always and again commands respect no matter what ...

1995 ... an adventure which comes to an end. Their style will have been totally hermetic to ordinary people but they will have had the merit of existing. Long live the 80s !
