Tom Tom Club is an American group founded in 1981 by a duo - husband and wife - namely Tina Weymouth and Chris Frantz. Founding members who originally were also the creators of another world famous group namely…. the "Talking Heads" (founded a few years earlier and whose dislocation will lead to the creation of Tom Tom Club). It was in 1981 that the single "Wordy Rappinghood" was released, with its peculiar sound and rhythm which ensured its immediate and dazzling success. But it is the single "Genius of love" released in 1982 which remains as their main success because it has been taken up and remixed many times.
