Bel Canto is a Norwegian trio, then duo formed in Tromsø in 1985 and originally composed of Geir Jenssen, Nils Johansen and Anneli Drecker.
Group that migrated to Brussels in 1986 to produce their first album "White-Out conditions", an album that would go somewhat unnoticed. Just like "Birds of passage" which came out 4 years later in 1990.
It is the release in 1992 of the album "Shimmering, warm and bright" which will finally allow them to be known a little but it will be especially the following album "Magic box" which will really make them pass from the shadows in the light. In particular thanks to the flagship Single "Rumor" which will remain as their one and only title classified internationally.
Other albums will be released later but without really knowing the same level of success as "Magic box"...
