She just came here to dance...

Shelly West is an American singer who is none other than the daughter of famous country star Dottie West. A mother who will strongly influence her on the Popo-country style of which she is at the origin and with whom she will tour many times.

It was through a famous duo with singer David Frizzell that she had her first big success in 1981, on the track "You’re the reason god make Oklahoma".

She had a second top hit in 1983 with the single "José Cuervo".

These will be his two main hits. Other titles will experience varying fortunes but never equal the other two.

To discover or rediscover.

Clips :

1981 ... debuts in duo mode which immediately showed the potential of the pretty Shelly. Certainly, the 'Country' register gives her little possibility of a mega-hit on a planetary level, but whatever ...

1981 ... the magical duo put the table back together and serve us a Country Ultimate Slow of the most astonishing and which goes my faith very well

1982 ... we take exactly the same and start over. And the result is once again up to the task. The 2 are really amazing in their particular register ...

1983 ... then here she is in solo mode. Well, on a 1000 % Country basis this time. We preferred her as a duo suddenly ...

1983 ... ah, there on the other hand, it's already a little better. Even though she was light years away from the dance standards of the time, what she produced is far from ridiculous

1983 ... a BIG year 1983 which sees her rise in power, that's clear. She finds its style and imposes a sound halfway between the traditional and the contemporary which gives more than convincing results

1984 ... 1 step forward, 2 steps back. Return to full Country mode. Well, let's wait and see the rest ...

1984 ... a year back to basics where she plays thoroughly on the fundamentals of her favorite register. But the 80s are also that !

1984 ... and to finish, we find once again the magical duo, which gives us a pretty ballad of which they have the secret. We take, we take !

1985 ... come on, it's not quite over. Even if she does more some figuration than anything else, what she continues to deliver is not without interest, far from it ...

1986 ... come on, a little last for the road. A nice adventure that will not have made her one of the major singers of the decade but what is certain is that she does not have to be ashamed of her discography, on the contrary !
