One of the missing links ...

Hithouse is a concept project orchestrated by the German Peter Slaghuis. Hithouse being the literal translation of Slaghuis (original Dutch name): Slag ranslating from Dutch into English is Hit and Huis translating from Dutch into English is House.

It will remain mainly in the musical history of the 80s for the enormous title "Jack to the sound of the underground" released in 1988.

But the importance of this title goes well beyond the commercial aspect because like "Video killed the radio star" and "Funky town", 2 major titles which had allowed the transition from the 70s to the 80s, "Jack to the sound of the underground ”(to which we will eventually add Rok Da House by Beatmasters, Theme for S'Express by S'Express, Ride on time by Blackbox and Pump up the jam by Technotronic) is the missing link between the 80s and the 90s. It is the base of the House current which will surge thereafter and reign unchallenged during the 90s.

The titles that will be released subsequently cannot compete in any way with this phenomenal title. All the more so as Slaghuis' career was brought to a halt in 1991 when he died in a car accident while driving at over 220 km/hour ...!

To discover or rediscover.

Clips :

1988 ... for a first title, it is a real masterstroke. The artist is simply signing here one of the most emblematic and important dance pieces of the decade. And of the twentieth century period ! MAS-TER-FUL !

1989 ... the rest will be almost as strong. A 2nd legendary title which definitely brings the artist into the legendary place. A new rhythmic era opens and will become the dominant one for the decades which follow !

1989 ... the BIG year with no less than 5 titles on the clock. 5 titles of relatively unequal quality ... Masterpieces but also from all comers. This one would rather be part of the 2nd category ...

1989 ... there is research on the sound level, there is no denying it. But that is not always enough to produce exceptional titles ...

1989 ... an uninterrupted series of Dance titles. But not everyone will set the Dancefloor on fire, that's clear. Can and must do better !

1989 ... the year will have counted 1 mega planetary hit followed by 4 minor hits. Like what, you should never confuse quantity and quality ...

1990 ... change of vintage, change of decade and a stealthy return to success. The artist signs here a last notorious hit ...

1990 ... like the previous year, a start on the wheel hats followed by titles of lesser quality. We would have liked a slightly more glorious end ...
