The Romantics is an American group formed in 1977 in Detroit and originally composed of Wally Palmar, Mike Skill, Rich Cole and Jimmy Marinos.
The group released their first single "Little white lies" in 1977, a single that will go somewhat unnoticed.
They will have to wait for the year 1980 and the release of the album "The Romantics" to finally see their hopes of recognition rewarded with the single "What I like about you". Single which becomes their first ranked hit.
An improvement of short duration unfortunately because the albums "National breakout" always and 1980 and "Strictly personal" in 1981 obtain scores of overall modest sales and send the group directly back to the depths of the Charts.
But that's without counting on the album "In heat" which came out in 1983. Album of rebirth and especially of consecration. Album whose flagship single will be "Talking in your sleep", an enormous single that will hit the world in the same year and literally explode the group's reputation internationally.
Album which will produce a second hit of very high caliber with the single "One in a million" which will be released the following year in 1984.
The sequel turned out to be significantly less favorable when the album "Rhythm Romance" was released in 1985. The album achieved a level of success that had nothing to do with its predecessor and struggled to produce a top hit worthy of the name. Only the title “Test of time” will stand out.
A relative success which will unfortunately be the last because the adventure will not produce anything concrete in the years that will follow.

1983 ... the titles follow one another but are not necessarily alike. As much the previous title will have shattered everything, as this title will go almost completely unnoticed. Cruel reversal of fortune ...
1984 ... the group will never be able to repeat the feat accomplished with 'Talking in your sleep'. The rest will be nice but the group will never again touch the stars ...
1985 ... an adventure which is already drawing to a close. The group is still deluding himself but the heart is no longer there it's clear. Just like inspiration ...
1985 ... the last title. A group that could have really done great things but which could not find the little extra that could have made all the difference and especially make them last ...
2003...we thought we would never see them again and yet here they are back almost 18 years later. Who would have thought this possible, not many people are sure and yet...
2003...of course they will never manage to rank new titles but at least they came back to the delight of their core fans...
2003...so last stand or more lasting return ? They are the only ones to answer the question and find out if they still have any spare titles in the drawers...
2015...then another big air hole of 12 years but they come back again. They take a long time to come back but they come back no matter what...
