Tim Finn, whose real name is Brian Timothy Finn, is a New Zealand singer-songwriter best known for being the founding member of the group Split Enz. Group which will shine from 1975 to 1984 and produce 9 albums, no less.
The solo career began in 1983 with the release of a first album called “Escapade”. First album which will be a real hit throughout the southern sphere and enjoy great success in the rest of the world, notably thanks to the enormous Single “Fraction too much friction”.
The Split Enz adventure over, the artist devoted himself mainly to his solo career and released a new album "Big canoe" in 1986. Album which confirmed that he could absolutely exist alone and which mainly produced the flagship Single "No thunder, no fire, no rain.”
A great adventure which continued in 1989 with the release of the album “Tim Finn”, an album which allowed him to end the 80s in the best possible way thanks to the title “How’m I gonna sleep”.
We will find him 4 years later with the album “Before and after”, an album which will remain as one of the highest ranked of all and which will above all give him his biggest success across the Channel. On the one hand with the title “Hit the ground running” but also and above all with “Persuasion”.
A success that he would never be able to match later despite the release of other albums and other Singles.

1983...finished the grouped mode, here is the artist now in solo mode. And the least we can say is that it's all going pretty well...
1983...a solo mode which is obviously successful since he manages to classify each title. Of course we are not talking about global success but all the same...
1983...he clearly proved in this first solo year that he could exist alone and that he had the capacity to succeed on his own...

1986...fortunately business picks up again in this new year 1986. The artist certainly came close to leaving the road anticipated but was able to bounce back as needed, phew...
1986...the year 1986 will still not be equivalent to the year 1983 but will come very close. The essential is therefore preserved...
1986...it still shows the artist that existing alone is not as easy as that. Because suddenly there are no other people to rely on in the event of a downturn...
1987...the proof with this big air hole during this new year 1987. Big air hole in terms of success in the Charts with a pure and simple disappearance...
1989...he will manage to bounce back once again in a spectacular way to say the least at the very end of the 80s. Clearly, the ups and downs follow one another at an impressive speed with him...

1993...then comes THIS title. Here he will score quite simply the biggest success of his entire Singles discography and prove once and for all that he has everything a Great. HU-GE !
1993...a year 1993 which will undoubtedly remain his best vintage. Everything will smile on him during this year and he will therefore have to make the most of it as much as he can...
1994...a year 1994 which will not be able to compete with the year which preceded it but which still allows him to prove that we will still have to count on him in the years to come...
1994...we're not going to lie, the best years are now behind him, but what he continues to offer is far from unworthy, that's clear...
1998...we lost sight of him for almost 4 years and here he is back in soundtrack mode, all for the film 'Steel city'. Clearly, soundtracks will never be his thing as they say...
1999...a 90s decade which ends more or less in general indifference. He will therefore have to quickly ask himself the right questions about the sequence of events...
2001...so he tries everything and returns in a much punchier musical mode at the start of the new decade. Reorientation which will pay off in the end...
2001...unfortunately it won't pay off on all titles. But the main thing is that he realized that he surely had to change something in his style and his sound...

2007...why throw in the towel prematurely if his faithful audience continues to support him ? An adventure which will therefore last a little longer...
2008...a second part of a quiet career that he leads at his own speed and above all as he sees fit. Afterwards if there is success so much the better otherwise too bad...
2008...an end of the decade a little more complicated to manage than expected with this new opus which will go somewhat under the radar. So the beginning of the end ? Good question...
2008...we will see if he has the courage to attempt the transition to the next decade but what is certain is that a recovery becomes necessary at the very least to avoid the final exit from the road...
2011...he said to himself that it would still be worth trying to move on to the next decade. And on principle who would blame him...
