Mind Blowing Decisions...

Heatwave is an Anglo-American band formed in 1975 and originally composed of brothers Johnnie and Keith Wilder, Rod Temperton, Barry Blue and Jesse Whitten.

Group which signed with the label GTO Records in 1976, label which will allow them to release their first album "Too hot too handle", album which will make a real planetary success and launch the group in a sensational way on the front of the international musical scene.

In particular thanks to the enormous single "Boogie nights", single which will also be released in 1976 and which remains to this day the biggest success of all their discography. And to a lesser extent "Always and forever", a title which will be released a year later in 1977.

Success confirmed and amplified the following year in 1978 with the release of the album "Central heating", album which will give them their biggest success on the album side. Album which will be carried at arm's length by two singles of very big caliber which are "Mind blowing decisions" and "The groove line".

Unfortunately, the end of the 1970s turned out to be more complicated to manage than expected and the album "Hot Property" which came out in 1979 was only going to have a mixed level of success.

The album "Candles" which came out in 1980 will do a little better and give the group their last major hit with the single "Gangsters of the groove".

The group will release two other albums during the 1980s but none will allow them to come back to the race for a long time ...

Clips :

1976 ... a trendy sound and style but that won't be enough to make them take off more than that. They will have to work again and again ...

1976 ... this one won't do better. The group struggles to emerge from the mass despite an obvious goodwill. Let's give them a little more time ...

1976 ... you just had to be a little patient. This time will be the good one with a takeoff for the less shattering thanks to this title which will set fire to all the Dancefloor on the planet. MAS-TER-FUL !

1977 ... the group set the bar so high with the previous title that the rest is going to be necessarily complicated to manage. With an unscrewing for the less severe in the Charts with this title ...

1977 ... an air gap that will not last thanks to this new title. The group decides to try an incursion into the Intimist domain and it takes him well, to say the least. MA-GIC !

1978 ... back to pure Dance mode. A winning comeback since the group here obtains one of its biggest successes thanks to this title. All good little guys !

1978 ... they constantly alternate fast tempo and much milder tempo and it works. Once again the proof with this title with finesse and more than certain quality ...

1979 ... new air hole in this year 1979 with a level of success at the level of the daisies. Everything was going perfectly well though. Like what, nothing is ever definitively acquired ...

1979 ... an end of the decade that saw the group struggling, despite a production of titles that was to say the least consistent. Unfortunately, on this occasion, quantity does not necessarily rhyme with quality ...

1979 ... this one will not even be classified. Considering the path taken by the group in this year 1979, we can fear the worst for the passage to the following decade ...

1980 ... we had every reason to fear the worst but it was bad to know them. Here they come to the surface in an impressive way, with the key to obtaining a new prestigious star to add to a prize list that already has a certain number ...

1981 ... the return to grace was short-lived. The group relapses directly behind and this time he will never come back to the race ...

1981 ... and yet they are far from ridiculous. But the level of competition is so high in the field of Dance at the beginning of the 1980s that the group can only play the roles of figuration ...

1982 ... the very last 'little' hit. The group will have tried everything to reverse the trend but nothing will have done. When it doesn't want anymore, it doesn't want anymore ...

1982 ... which does not prevent them from continuing to produce titles of this caliber. Like what, they really did not lack much to return to the front of the stage ...

1987 ... they disappear from radar for 5 years and here they are back in this year 1987 in a certain form. Form certain but still not sufficient to change the situation concerning them. Definitely ...

1988 ... they had the potential to do great things during the 1980s but the loosening at the start of the decade was unfortunately fatal to them. Impossible to come back behind ...

1990 ... it is Jocelyn Brown who will offer them a last gift with this title. Title which will allow them to leave by the front door and thus close in the best way possible an adventure which will have undoubtedly consecrated them as one of the groups which counted during this end of the XXth century !
