Heatwave is an Anglo-American band formed in 1975 and originally composed of brothers Johnnie and Keith Wilder, Rod Temperton, Barry Blue and Jesse Whitten.
Group which signed with the label GTO Records in 1976, label which will allow them to release their first album "Too hot too handle", album which will make a real planetary success and launch the group in a sensational way on the front of the international musical scene.
In particular thanks to the enormous single "Boogie nights", single which will also be released in 1976 and which remains to this day the biggest success of all their discography. And to a lesser extent "Always and forever", a title which will be released a year later in 1977.
Success confirmed and amplified the following year in 1978 with the release of the album "Central heating", album which will give them their biggest success on the album side. Album which will be carried at arm's length by two singles of very big caliber which are "Mind blowing decisions" and "The groove line".
Unfortunately, the end of the 1970s turned out to be more complicated to manage than expected and the album "Hot Property" which came out in 1979 was only going to have a mixed level of success.
The album "Candles" which came out in 1980 will do a little better and give the group their last major hit with the single "Gangsters of the groove".
The group will release two other albums during the 1980s but none will allow them to come back to the race for a long time ...
