Jairo, whose real name is Mario Ruben Marito Gonzalez Pierotti, is an Argentinian singer-songwriter.

Particularly known in France during the 1970s, he will remain mainly in the musical history of the end of the XXth century thanks to the enormous title "Les jardins du ciel", single which was released in 1980 and which will make its fortune, and its glory.

Other well-made titles came out during the 1980s and for that reason alone, we had to devote this article to him.

1965...a promising start, but at that stage it was impossible to imagine the enormous career that awaited him...

1965...in any case, these first titles read at least allowed him to start making a name for himself. That's better than nothing...

1971...we find him 6 years later under the name Jairo and this time the story will start to accelerate somewhat...

1971...admittedly, we're not talking about a spectacular takeoff, but the main thing for him now is to make a name for himself, a real one...

1971...now that the foundations, the real ones, are laid, all that remains is for him to find the style and sound that will finally make the difference for him...

On a very traditional track called 'Carol of the drum' dating from 1941 and composed by Katerine Kennicott Davis, he delivers a version which holds my faith very well the road and which will undoubtedly remain as one of the best interpreted versions...

1979 ... an Intimist register which he never leaves and in which he shows obvious aptitudes. But the obvious gap with the new musical trends of the moment can only inexorably isolate him and ultimately marginalize him ...

1979... he reappears in a completely unconventional genre: children's nursery rhymes. A surprising career strategy...

1979...in the era of synthesizers and drum machines, he decided to pursue a radically different musical path...

1980...we suspected this offbeat interlude wouldn't last. He would soon follow it up with the biggest hit of his career. And precisely with a song far more rhythmic than anything he had released before. Proof that it didn't take much. HU-GE !

1980... a sequel that, it must be said, has little to do with the title that preceded it. It's a shame the singer didn't capitalize on the momentum generated earlier...

1980...it's a bit better rhythmically with this one. He absolutely must respect current trends, otherwise things could get complicated later on...

1980...the kind of song that will struggle to find its audience in the years to come. Danger ahead, as they say...

1980...he really needs to become aware of the world around him and especially of the changes taking place at the very beginning of this new decade...

1981...a return to a fast tempo on this new track. Despite obvious efforts to keep up with the latest trends, it's clear that it's virtually impossible for him to compete on equal footing with the competition...

1981...back to Spanish. It's clear that nothing is guaranteed at this stage and that a sharp decline in the coming years cannot be ruled out...

1981... he still enjoys a certain amount of public goodwill, but it's not certain that this will last much longer...

1982 ... a return to Intimist mode in the 70s version which unfortunately undermines all the efforts he has made in past years to try to catch up with the leading pack. It is now almost a waste of time ...

1983 ... the years pass and the gap worsens even more with the competition. An inability to change and above all to renew himself at the musical level which will inevitably lead him to his loss ...

1984 ... already much more trendy, we wonder if we are dealing with the same singer as the difference is incredible with what he has offered until then. Unfortunately, the delay with the competition is now too great. Pity...

1985...this doesn't stop him from continuing his adventure come what may, but he loses his audience title after title, year after year...

1985...and at this rate, only the die-hard fans will remain. It's the harsh reality of the business, but no one escapes it...

1986 ... and yet, he had the potential to do great things during the 1980s, the proof with this title. Unfortunately, his lack of daring during the transition to the 80s was fatal ...

1986...an album that could have allowed him to get back in the game a little, but the gap with the competition is so wide that it's now mission impossible...

1988...back to Spanish once again, just to see if it might change things. Nice try, but in the end it won't change anything...

1988... he will therefore have to be content from now on with a career exclusively focused on the Hispanic sphere...

1988... but on the other hand, it's better than nothing at all. As long as he maintains a sufficient core fan base, anything is still possible...

1990...so he figured it might be worth trying to make it into the next decade anyway. And now he has...

1990...after that, I'm not sure the 90s decade was more favorable to him than the 80s decade, but it's still worth a try...

1990...as long as he enjoys what he does, why would he decide to throw in the towel prematurely? That's what he tells himself every morning when he gets up...

1994...the adventure continues quietly but surely, and above all, in its own way. No more pressure, if there's success, all the better, if not, so be it...

1994...and in principle, as long as he can continue like this, why not ? Admittedly, the journey is quite solitary, but still...

1994...we don't know how long he can go on like this, but he doesn't even consider the question in those terms...

1997...and another album, one more ! Nothing can stop him, neither the weight of years, nor the weight of decades, and even less so the changing fashions...

1997... however, his musical style is no longer at all in line with what the general public expects. Danger ahead...

1999...it doesn't seem to bother him too much anyway. Here he is again at the very end of the decade with the firm intention of not giving up, as always...

1999...no one can take away his unwavering belief, that much is clear. His ability to withstand adversity is nothing short of impressive...

2000...and another decade added to the tally ! He lived through the 60s, then the 70s, then the 80s, then the 90s, and now he's quietly entering the 2000s...

2000...an exceptionally long career for one of the most gifted South American artists of his generation, and this is undeniably true...

2004...albums follow one after another and nothing, and no one, is able to make him change anything...

2004...his musical inertia unfortunately penalizes him once again and distances him even further from the general public...

2004...but as before, it doesn't seem to affect him much. So we imagine it will be like this until the end...

2007...who could have imagined when he started his career in 1965 that he would still be here more than 40 years later ? Not many people, that's for sure...

2007...and yet here he is, who would have thought it. With each new release, we think it might be his last, and each time he keeps coming back...

2009...will the 2000s be his last decade in activity ? Not at all certain, because we now know that with him, nothing is ever truly finished...

2009...and the die-hard fans certainly aren't going to complain, far from it. Die-hard fans who always want more and more...

2014...admittedly, we lost track of him for almost 5 years, but here he is again ! It seemed out of the question for him not to return during this new decade...
