Little girl wants the world...

Sapho, whose real name is Danielle Ebguy, is a Franco-Moroccan singer whose stage name is a reference to the poet Sappho. Singer who began her artistic career by joining the Petit Conservatoire de Mireille.

She released her first untitled album in 1977, an album that would go completely unnoticed because it was rejected by the singer who found it too sanitized for her taste by the Production…

We find her in New York at the end of the 1970s, where she plays journalists for the magazine Actuel.

Return to the Old Continent at the start of the 1980s, a comeback that coincided with the recording of a new album, an album that did not do better than its predecessor. Ditto for "Le Paris stupide" which will be released in 1981.

It was not until 1982 and the release of the album "Passage d´enfer" that her career finally began to take off. Album followed a year later by "Barbarie" which also will know for a time or little the favor of the public.

In parallel with her solo career, we find her surprisingly at the same time within the Bande à Basile or with the group Odeurs.

It was with the album "Passions, passions" which came out in 1985 that she finally achieved success, notably thanks to the titles "Globo night" and "Carmel".

A major success, to say the least ephemeral, because the albums that will be released subsequently will only experience a mixed level of success.
