Shannon, whose real name is Shannon Greene, is an American singer-songwriter and considered to this day as the queen of Hi-NRG.
His first single "Let the music play" came out in 1983 and for a first title, it was a real masterstroke. The track set fire to every Dancefloor on the planet and to this day remains unquestionably one of the biggest dance hits of the decade. The singer's notoriety literally explodes.
The album "Let the music play" was released a few months later in 1984. And just like the single of the same name, the album was a worldwide hit. Over 1.5 million copies will be sold worldwide. Album from which a second top hit will be extracted with the single "Give me tonight". And to a lesser extent, the singles "My heart's divided" and "Sweet somebody" will also be a significant success.
She did it again a year later in 1985 with the album "Do you wanna get away", an album of lesser success but still successful. The single of the same name will be the biggest hit, followed by little "Stronger together". Singles which will already be the artist’s latest notorious hits.
Everything that will come out subsequently will meet little or no success despite a large number of titles released. Sadly, the singer will have come down as quickly as she came on and walked through the musical history of the 80s like a shooting star.
