Shannon, whose real name is Shannon Greene, is an American singer-songwriter and considered to this day as the queen of Hi-NRG.
His first single "Let the music play" came out in 1983 and for a first title, it was a real masterstroke. The track set fire to every Dancefloor on the planet and to this day remains unquestionably one of the biggest dance hits of the decade. The singer's notoriety literally explodes.
The album "Let the music play" was released a few months later in 1984. And just like the single of the same name, the album was a worldwide hit. Over 1.5 million copies will be sold worldwide. Album from which a second top hit will be extracted with the single "Give me tonight". And to a lesser extent, the singles "My heart's divided" and "Sweet somebody" will also be a significant success.
She did it again a year later in 1985 with the album "Do you wanna get away", an album of lesser success but still successful. The single of the same name will be the biggest hit, followed by little "Stronger together". Singles which will already be the artist’s latest notorious hits.
Everything that will come out subsequently will meet little or no success despite a large number of titles released. Sadly, the singer will have come down as quickly as she came on and walked through the musical history of the 80s like a shooting star.
To discover or rediscover.

1983 ... a first title which rhymes with planetary mega hit. For a first try, it is a real masterstroke. The singer signs here quite simply one of the biggest dance hits of the decade. She couldn't have asked for a better start. MAS-TER-FUL !
1984 ... she does it again a year later with a title that will certainly not have the same level of success as its predecessor but which will also have a nice career in the Charts
1984 ... always so Dance, always so effective. Admittedly, a little less inspired, but of quality all the same. The singer is on a dynamic which now carries her from success to success
1984 ... a BIG year 1984 with no less than 3 classified titles. It goes quietly but surely !
1984 ... her first Intimist moment. And even if this title will not be classified, it is frankly worth the detour. She demonstrates here and in a brilliant way that she is good in all areas, the mark of the Great !
1985 ... a new global mega hit with this new song Dance which works perfectly. The singer clearly stands out as one of the sure values of the moment. HU-GE !
1985 ... BIG year 1984 but BIG year 1985 as well. Two beautiful years which saw the singer give herself to her heart's content and succeed in everything she undertakes !
1985 ... she even allows herself the luxury of taking over one of the flagship titles of the Foreigner group dating from 1981. And making Dance even more a song that already was !
1986 ... beautiful new Ultimate Slow. And which as paradoxical as it may seem will not even be classified. Go figure ...
1986 ... successes are increasingly rare. After 2 totally euphoric years, the rest is more complicated than expected. And yet, it is not for lack of good will ...
1987 ... the last hit. And again, the title will only be classified across the Channel. A somewhat laborious end of the adventure ...
1992 ... she tries the 90s adventure. The sound has adapted, as has the style. Unfortunately, faced with completely unbridled competition, it is difficult to compete !
1995 ... this time, it is indeed the end. Despite several bailout attempts, the singer could not be brought back into the race. A great adventure all the same !
