Ricchi & Poveri is an Italian group formed in 1967 and originally composed of Franco Gatti, Angela Brambati, Angelo Sotgiu and Marina Occhiena, a group which can boast of having sold no less than 20 million records to date.
Group that will remain mainly in the musical history of the 80s thanks to the enormous single "Sarà perché ti amo", single which was released in 1981 and which will remain as one of the most emblematic titles of the decade on the Italian side.
As such alone, we had to devote this article to them.

1968 ... the very first title of a small group whose saga will span over thirty years, just that. And what better way to start than this luxury cover of one of Robert Knight's flagship titles from 1967...
1968...from the first titles this quartet shows more than obvious potential. It now remains to be seen what they will do with this potential in the years to come...
1969...it is clear that we are much stronger as a group of 4 than alone. It is precisely this surplus that will be the strength of this group...
1970 ... in a style so typical of the early 1970s, the group displays possibilities that suggest a continuation of the most interesting ...
1970...in just 2 years the group has already established himself as one of the biggest revelations of the moment and this is only just reward...

1971 ... the 1970s saw the group operate at 4, which was not the case for the next. 1980 ... a change of decade which rhymes with acceleration of the tempo and change of tone. A shift that will pay off given what is looming on the horizon ...
1981 ... then comes THIS title. The title which establishes them definitively and indisputably as one of the flagship groups of the moment. Here they are quite simply signing one of the biggest Dance hits of the decade, a mega hit which makes them enter once and for all in the musical legends of the 80s. MAS-TER-FUL !
1981 ... after the Dance gem, here comes almost the equivalent in the Intimist register. The group is in incredible Olympic form which literally makes them walk on water. MA-GIC !
1982...impossible for this title to compete with its 2 predecessors, that's clear. But that in no way detracts from its quality...

1984 ... one of the most prolific inspiration of the past 15 years. And almost every time titles of very high caliber, even anthology. Who says better ?
1984 ... one of the rare groups to have been able to cross the 1960s, then the 1970s, then the 1980s. A longevity reserved for the best and only for those who have been able to adapt and stick to the times, necessarily !
1984...well, we're not going to lie, the best years are now behind them. The group arrives at a career crossroads that they will have to negotiate delicately, to say the least...
1985 ... year after year, title after title, the Success Story continues. And even if the group will never be able to match the success of 'Sarà perché ti amo', everything they have offered alongside is of high quality, it is clear !
1986...an Italian sound typical of this mid-decade. A unique know-how that allows them to stand out from the crowd, even if the time for mega global hits is over...
1987...a second part of the 80s which will still prove more complicated to understand than expected. Attention danger...
1987...success is now limited exclusively to Italy and it will be like that until the end. The group is struggling to reinvent himself at the end of the 80s and is paying a high price...
1988...already 20 years of existence under the clock and the trio is in good shape, to say the least. Will they make it through the next decade ? Good question...
1989 ... how did they get through the decades with such ease ? Simply by constantly adapting. A new proof with this title perfectly in tune with the times...
1990 ... we wondered if they would move on to the next decade. The proof is here. Fourth decade crossed and few wrinkles on the clock. A longevity worthy of the greatest !

1999...we arrive at the end of the adventure at the highest level but surely not at the end of the adventure itself. Because at first sight they still have things to offer and especially to sing !
1999...as always it's the grassroots fans who are delighted to see them come back every time. Especially since what they continue to offer is far from devoid of interest...
1999...certainly the best years are now behind them but it is obvious that as long as they take pleasure in doing what they do they will continue the adventure at all costs...
2012...we will lose sight of them for more than 10 years but here they are again. With each title we tell ourselves that it may be the last and each time they come back for our greatest pleasure...
2012...it is clear that they produce less and less new titles and that what they offer now is mainly covers of their old titles. But there are still some new things...
2012... so we can imagine that this title will surely not be the last. Because we now know with them nothing is ever finished...
