Invasion of your privacy...

Ratt is an American band formed in 1976 and originally composed of Stephen Pearcy, Chris Hager, Tim Garcia and Bob Eisenberg.

Group which, after signing with the Time Coast Music label, released an eponymous mini-album 7 years later in 1983. Mini-album from which their first Single "You think you’re tough" will be extracted. A mini-album that will not go unnoticed and which allows them to sign with a new more prestigious label that is Atlantic Records.

Their first - real - album "Out of the cellar" was released a year later in 1984 and confirms their rise to power. The album made a huge splash in North America and rocketed them to the forefront in particular thanks to the Single "Round and round". A success that they owe in part to the enormous impact of their clips which are looped on MTV ...

The success now exceeds the North American continent from the year 1985 when the album "Invasion of your privacy" was released, a year in which the group began to break into the Old Continent. Album from which will be extracted mainly two high caliber Singles "Lay it down" and "You’re in love".

The bellows fell somewhat when the album "Dancing undercover" was released in 1986, an album with less success than its predecessors and which struggled to produce any Single of the global class. Only the title "Dance" will succeed.

New album "Reach for the sky" in 1988, album which confirms the slow deceleration of the group and which will produce their last major hit with the title "Way cool Jr.".

Other albums will come out later but the band will never come back to the best.

Tracks :

1983 ... a first title which immediately sets the trend : little guys aren't here to laugh ! Well, now that we've been warned, everything should be fine ...

1984 ... from the 2nd title, it's the jackpot ! The group won here its first star and was propelled to the front of the stage in a shattering way. All good little guys !

1984 ... of course, the success is limited for the moment to the North American sphere but it is always taken as they say. Let's give them a little more time ...

1984 ... a BIG year 1984 with a plethora of titles and quality across the board. The group is growing in a linear fashion and is establishing himself more and more as the big revelations of the moment ...

1984 ... four titles just for this year 1984, a real performance. Unfortunately, this title will be the little 'failure' of the four with a level of success flush with the daisies ...

1985 ... there was the BIG year. Here comes the GREAT year. The group will sign its 2 biggest titles during this year 1985 starting with this one. With the key to a success of global level this time !

1985 ... the mega hits follow one another in this year 1985 and make the group one of the flagship groups of the moment. Admittedly in a musical register which is not necessarily all public but it does not matter, it is necessary for everyone. HU-GE !

1985 ... decidedly, the end of the year sees them somewhat lagging behind. Another title that will go under the radar. On the other hand, those that go unnoticed are often the most punchy. This explains that...

1986 ... a year 1986 which started off strongly with this new particularly punchy title. Success is back but limited, necessarily ...

1986 ... who says ultra punchy says...success at half mast ! Another end of the year which sees the group going 'through'. When it doesn't want, it doesn't ...

1987 ... a shame because the adventure was off to a good start. But the group made the choice of the beating in order to the detriment of the melodic inspiration. Bad pickaxe as they say ...

1988 ... they will sign their last major title here. And as if by chance, as soon as they slow down the tempo, success returns as if by magic ...

1989 ... production of titles slows down drastically and the level of success plummets. All the lights are now red. Attention danger...

1990 ... they will attempt the transition to the 90s but the results in the Charts will not be much more brilliant. The group is now relegated to the end of the leading pack and will never come back to the front of the race ...

1990 ... yet another end-of-vintage title that will go by the wayside. A habit with them from the start. Unfortunately we will not remake them again ...

1991 ... an almost 'normal' title. It was time ! And like magic, success follows. Like what, it would have been enough to see them reach the highest peaks of the Charts with a more appropriate musical sound ...

1991 ... a short-lived upturn. Hunt the natural, it comes back at a gallop. New beating in order and pure and simple disappearance of the Charts. How predictable ...

1999 ... this time, it is indeed the end. A little more than 15 years after its debut, the group is about to bow out for good. While leaving behind a significant prize list. Respect then !
