The Cassandra Complex is an English group formed in Leeds in 1980 and originally composed of Rodney Orpheus, Paul Dillon and Andy Booth.
Group that released a first self-financed single "March" in 1985, a single that would go unnoticed to say the least. At least with the general public because it still allows them to sign with the Rouska label, a label with which they will release their first two albums, namely "Grenade" and "Hello America" the following year in 1986.
Change of label the following year and move to Play It Again Sam, label with which they released their new album "Theomania" a year later in 1988.
Under the same label will be released the albums "Satan, Bugs Bunny and me..." in 1989, "Cyberpunx" in 1990, "The war against sleep" in 1992 and "Sex and death" in 1993.
None will produce a major hit, but the group can always boast of having a fairly extensive discography. That's it, as they say...

1989...the end of the 80s which saw them particularly - and above all better - inspired. We can only appreciate this return to a more structured and above all more accomplished music...
1990...the upturn continues at the beginning of the 90s. The group has finally found the style and sound that go well and it shows, especially it can be heard !
1990...certainly, everything that comes out now is not necessarily highly inspired but there is better, we can't deny it. So we take !
1990...the group now perfectly masters its environment and already offers a much more affordable face for ordinary mortals. Like it wasn't enough...
1992... drive out the natural, it comes back at a gallop. The group goes back to its experimental shortcomings which are not likely to attract the general public. Attention danger...
1992...this would already be much more standard. They will have alternated constantly titles for the general public and titles reserved for the most restricted audience. Strange strategy...
1993...they can't help but mix obscure sounds and trendy sounds. We won't remake them again as they say, but it's a shame to have chosen this path, which is tortuous to say the least and which will inevitably have marginalized them more than anything else...
1993...an atypical group that will never have done anything like the others. This is also the magic of the 80s, all currents, all styles, all tempos, all possible and imaginable sounds that coexist in perfect harmony...
2000...we will lose sight of them for nearly 7 years and here they are again at the dawn of this new millennium in a form that we will qualify as certain. Afterwards, it remains to be seen what they will offer us because with them, nothing is ever won...
