After being born in the United States, he decided to return to Australia from the year 1978 at the age of 31. And it was there that his solo career began, especially in 1979 when he released the Single "Boat people". Title in favor of Vietnamese Boat People which will go unnoticed to say the least… except for the Vietnamese present in Australia.
On the other hand, the following title, him, will not go unnoticed, far from it ! The title "Shaddap your face" which came out a year later in 1980 was to make a real worldwide hit, sell more than 6 million copies around the world and project the singer on the front of the international scene in a sensational way.
A dynamic of success that continued the following year in 1981 with the release of the album "Shaddap your face", an album from which the hit Single "If you want to be happy" was mainly extracted. A year that will see the release of a second album "Christmas in Australia", album which will be even stronger than its predecessor in the Charts.
And as paradoxical as it may seem, the great adventure will unfortunately come to an end. Other Singles will be released later such as "You toucha my car I breaka your face" in 1982, "Pizza pizza" in 1984 and "Vaffanculo polka" in 1989 but none will be ranked.
He will nevertheless experience a last notorious success in terms of music with the musical show 'Difficul Women', a cabaret show staged in 1992 with his partner Lin Van Hek.
