Hot shot...

Karen Young was an American singer who started her career recording jingles and dubbing for a company based in Philadelphia.

We find her in the early 70s in a group called Sandd before taking her personal flight at the end of the decade.

A take-off that took place in 1978 on the enormous title "Hot shot", a title which literally exploded its notoriety internationally and which will remain as the biggest success of his career. A title taken from his only album released the same year and which bears the same name as the single.

Unfortunately, the sequence of events turned out to be much less favorable with some rare and meager successes during the 1980s, including "Dynamite" in 1981 and "Deetour" in 1982.

A great adventure that will end definitively on January 26, 1991, when the singer died prematurely of a hemorrhagic ulcer at the age of 39.

To discover or rediscover.

1978 ... one title, THIS title, was enough to make the fortune and the glory of this young singer out of nowhere. She can not dream of a better career start as they say !

1978 ... a sequel that will not be able to compete with the previous gem as the bar has been set high. But which still allows the singer to confirm that she is not there by chance ...

1980 ... unfortunately, the transition to the 80s was not going to be done in an ideal way with a more than serious unscrewing in the Charts. Not necessarily a good omen all this ...

1980 ... an astonishing version of the American patriotic anthem. Especially for the beginning of the 1980s. A daring bet and above all a lost bet ...

1981 ... a title that has nothing to do with the previous one that's clear. We are witnessing here a more than salutary recovery in hand and which above all allows her to get back into the race. Hope it lasts ...

1982 ... unfortunately, the singer relapses directly. This revisited version of the Soul Survivors title dating from 1967 is nice but will go completely under the radar ...

1982 ... this one on the other hand will know a much more favorable destiny. Certainly, she will never have reached the first places of Charts with its titles but will have left in the musical history of the 80s several titles of great caliber including 1 anthology. Not bad anyway !

1983 ... another relapse. She will have spent most of her career yoyoing in the Charts despite obvious goodwill. Not all that easy ...

1983 ... she will save the furniture in this year 1983 with this title. A title which will know its heyday across the Channel. Better than nothing at all ...

1984 ... the exit door is fast approaching. She disappears once again from the radar and this disappearance will be the last. Almost 10 years after having literally exploded on the international scene, the adventure ends here. Pity...
