Haircut 100 is an English group formed in 1980 by singer Nick Heyward, bassist Les Nemes and guitarist Graham Jones.
The band released their first single "Favorite shirts" in 1981 and it was a hit. As much by the quality of the song as by the look of the members of the group. Look that is literally all the rage among teens.
The essay was transformed in 1982 with the release of a new hit "Love + One" which also made a splash.
The album "Pelican West" was released in stride. A real commercial success, it is also unanimous among critics.
Also in 1982 came out the singles "Fantastic day" and "Nobody’s fool" with less success but nevertheless very correct.
The group then embarks on an exhausting tour which will considerably destabilize the group to the point that Nick Heyward falls into depression. He left the group at the end of 1982.
Other singles like "Prime time", "So tired" and "Too up two down" will be released later but the group's fall is inexorable without its leader and main composer. All the singles turn out to be failures. The group will not recover.
To discover or rediscover.

1981 ... a title that spins at the speed of light to start off in style and above all to offer them their first classified title. All good little guys !
1982 ... light, airy, rhythmic, a style that has it all ! With the key the most success of all their discography thanks to this title which works perfectly. HU-GE !
1982 ... the rest will be a little less favorable unfortunately. The fall in the Charts is brutal and brings the group back to its level of success from the start. Cruel setback ...
1982 ... a year that ends as it started, light and airy. But that is no longer enough to keep them in the Elite. Success is now limited exclusively to England ...
1983 ... the year 1983 will not allow the group to turn things around. The decline is now underway and nothing, and no one, can stop it ...
1983 ... change of leader, change of rhythm and change of sound. The total as they say. With a fatal unscrewing in the Charts. Tough law of the trade ...
1984 ... last year of existence for the group. A group with a short-lived career to say the least, but which nevertheless produced one of the major titles of the decade, that's already it !
