Hongkong Syndikat is a German group formed in 1981 and originally composed of Bruno Grünberg, Hartmut Möller and Gerd Plez.
Group which released a first album "Erster streich" a year later in 1982, album from which will be extracted mainly the Single "Berlin bleibt doch Berlin". The album, like the Single, will only experience a very limited level of success unfortunately...
Suddenly, passage from the German language to English for the lyrics of the new album "Olympia" in 1984, album which will experience a slightly higher level of success...
It was the album "Never too much" that completely changed the situation in 1985 and propelled them to the front of the stage in a sensational way to say the least. In particular thanks to the huge Single "Concrete and clay" which will be released a year later in 1986.
A success that will be short-lived since the album "Des teutons pas nippons" which will be released in 1987 will not experience the success of its predecessor. A poor performance that will lead to the slow but above all irreversible disappearance of the group...

1982... it is clear that it is not with this kind of title that the group will pass from shadow to light. They will have to work again and again...
1982...on the other hand, you have to start well one day or another. But the level is really too low to play in the big leagues at this stage...

1984 ... it's a little better but still not enough for now. The group will really have to review its fundamentals in depth...

1984... but what is certain is that things are rather improving. At least we hope so, otherwise the exit from the road may happen faster than expected...
1985...the metamorphosis ! All in a style that has nothing to do with what they previously offered but which works much better in any case...
1985...the questioning will have been, to say the least, rapid and will above all have allowed them to save the essentials. It now remains to produce THE title that will make all the difference...
1986...we find them surprisingly in Ultimate Slow mode the following year, a style we didn't really know about them...
1986...then finally comes THE title that will change everything. It is THIS title that will propel them to the forefront of the international music scene in a way to say the least shattering and at the same time offer them a direct ticket to posterity. HU-GE !
1986...a sequel that will not be able to compete with the huge previous title and which will above all bring the group back to a level of success that is limited to say the least...
1987... after they will have produced at least 1 title which will have marked the history which is not nothing. Not all bands can say the same...
1989...an adventure that won't go any further and that ends at the very end of the 80s. But the adventure was beautiful and that's the main thing...
