Claudia Phillips is an American-born singer whose particularity, apart from being a singer, is to be the daughter of Barre Phillips, a famous jazz bassist.
It will remain mainly in the musical history of the 80s thanks to the enormous single "Quel souci La Boétie", single which was released in 1987 and which will literally set fire to all the dance floors in France.
As such alone, we owe it to her to devote this article to her.
To discover or rediscover.
Discography (among others ...) :
Quel souci la Boétie 1987
Souvenez-vous de nous 1988
Cache ta joie 1989
Juste un peu sauvage 1989
Donne moi du feu 1991
1987 ... just a single title, THIS title, was enough to bring the singer One Shot into the musical legend of the 80s. Here she is signing quite simply one of the biggest dance hits of the decade on the French side. MAS-TER-FUL !
1988 ... it would have been miraculous that she repeated the feat in the wake. The rest is nice but can in no way compete with the previous bomb. Must review his copy ...
1989 ... and yet she hangs on. She delivers here a rather successful copy but the public has already moved on unfortunately. She will never get back to the leading pack again ...
1989 ... and this is not the title that will change anything. Difficult to exist at the end of the decade, especially when the competition does not give any gifts. Hard law of the trade ...
1989 ... she even knows how to do Intimist. And she is far from being ridiculous. The title she gives here is inspired and works very well. Like what it would have been enough not much for her to have a recognition much higher than it was ...
1991 ... she will all the same have reached the 90s for whatever reason, but the result will be the same. She will never have succeeded in catching up with the competition during the previous decade. Too bad because there was potential, that's clear !
