Chasing for the breeze...

Little interesting info about Aswad other than the fact that it's an English band formed in 1975 and originally composed of Brinsley Forde, Angus Gaye, Donald Griffiths, Georges Oban and Courtney Hemmings. Groups composed mainly of descendants of immigrants from the Caribbean.

Group that will remain mainly in the musical history of the 80s for the enormous single "Don’t turn around" released in 1988.

As such alone, we had to devote this article to them.

To discover or rediscover.

Clips :

1984 ... first title and already first classified title. Of course, the success is exclusively limited to England but it is already that as they say !

1984 ... a title full of finesse which will pass completely under the radar whereas it would have frankly deserved a recognition much higher than it was. Sometimes you don't have to try to understand ...

1985 ... after a very promising start, the group is doing a little bit of the spot and has difficulty confirming all the good that one could think of him ...

1986 ... the titles follow each other but for the moment, nothing changes in a notable way. We will therefore have to be a little more patient for the big takeoff ...

1987 ... and yet they are not devoid of talent, it is clear. There really isn't much missing for the band to do something remarkable ....

1988 ... then THIS title comes ! In truth a luxury cover of the title of Tina Turner dating from 1986 but what a cover ! Here they are signing quite simply the biggest success of their entire career and sign one of the most iconic titles of the decade. MAS-TER-FUL !

1988 ... a sequel that holds up and keeps them in the lead without too much problem. Hope it lasts !

1989 ... unfortunately, the return to earth will be violent. The group relapses in the Charts in a brutal way and this despite a quality of title however obvious ...

1989 ... and it is not this cover of the title of Stephen Bishop dating from 1977 that will unfortunately allow them to go up the slope. A future that darkens title after title ...

1990 ... anyway, they will still attempt the transition to the 90s and well will take them. Because this title will work much better than the previous two !

1990 ... it is clear that they will do the yo-yo more during this decade 90 than anything else, it is clear. This title may be light and cheerful, the result in the Charts will not really live up to their expectations ...

1991 ... and yet it is not the quality that is lacking, far from it. Once again the proof with this title which shows that these guys really have talent !

1993 ... after an empty year 1992, they are back in great shape in 1993. In addition, in charming company, which does not spoil anything. This revisited version of the Ace title from 1975 works perfectly and will undoubtedly remain as one of their most iconic titles !

1994 ... the Phoenix will be reborn in an incredible way with this title and get its 2nd biggest success, just that. A rebirth to say the least unexpected and which shows that perseverance is often good. The proof !

1994 ... unfortunately a short-lived improvement. Once again the group suddenly relapses when he is far from unworthy. A career in seesaw to say the least incomprehensible ...

1994 ... from this title the group will only do some figuration. A gradual disappearance of radars that nothing, and no one, will be able to stop. Frankly shame ...

1995 ... they try it all with this revisited version of Dee Dee Warwick's title from 1963. Their base fans continue to follow them but there is only them to continue to do so again. ..

1995 ... the group ends in freewheeling and obtains here one of its very last laurels. And yet, only England is still interested in them. Hard law of the trade ...

1998 ... more to eat afterwards. Apart from this luxury cover of the Police title dating from 1981. We will be satisfied with it as they say ...

2002 ... we will find them at the very beginning of the 2000s in the company of Easther Bennett, all on a luxury cover of the title of Diana King dating from 1995. New duo of shock and charm which works perfectly but which will be unfortunately the last title of the group before its outright disappearance ...

2002... the group will produce other titles the same year which will pass much more unnoticed but not devoid of interest, that's clear...

2002...so it would have been a shame not to talk about it at least. The group will have been good from the beginning to the end and this for our greatest pleasure...

2009...we thought we wouldn't see them again and here they are again 7 years later in an unexpected way to say the least. A last title which will indeed be the last this time. Normally...
