The Passions is an English band formed in 1978 and originally composed of Barbara Gogan, Richard Williams, Clive Temperley, Dack Dyde, Claire Bidwell and Mitch Barker.
Their first single "Needles and pills" was released in 1979 and, despite very relative success, allowed them to land a contract with the Fiction Records label.
The group released their first album "Michael & Miranda" a year later in 1980, an album that went somewhat unnoticed.
It was especially a year later in 1981 that they finally found success with a title, and not just any. The enormous "I’m in love with a german film star", the flagship title of their discography and which will make a real worldwide hit.
The same year the album "30000 feet over China" was released, which was also popular with the public.
The album "Sanctuary" which was released a year later in 1982 did not experience the same enthusiasm. Due to lack of noticeable success, the group ended up splitting up the following year.
